Easy to grow and looks good
During the pandemic I started growing clover all around my 1/2 lot. I tried four different kinds and this red clover has been one of the most successful. It grows easily and looks nice. I did not get too many flowers with my first planting but I think that was due to planting the seeds way, way, way too densely. The plants are a nice shade of green and stayed green through out the winter (I live in Silicon Valley). I was surprised to see them growing into the 2nd season. Apparently the plants will last a few years. One caution though. When you plant these seeds you must cover them with a thin layer of dirt. I did an experiment where I planted one patch with a thin layer of dirt and an adjacent patch with no dirt cover. The bare patch did not germinate successfully. Perhaps if I had watered the bare seeds multiple times per day they batch would have survived. In any event, I would very strongly recommend that these seeds be planted with 1/8 to 1/4 of dirt on top to get optimal germination success and also to minimize the gardening effort in the first week weeks of life. Anther suggestion is to follow the recommendation on density of seeds. If you plant the seeds too dense then you get a really dense mass of clovers but I think it makes it harder for any individual plant to flower. A final observation on this plant. In the fall last year these plants were looking bad. I thought that they had run their course (usually red clover are listed as "annuals") so I cut them down using the lawn mower at its lowest setting. My thought was that there would die and I would plant something new in that location. I was surprised that the cutting rejuvenated the plants going into the winter and they grew out fresh new foliage that looked great even now.

Germinated quickly
Bought this in the spring and applied in the fall right before it rained. Checked on the ground a couple days later and saw a bunch had already sprouted tiny roots/stems. The real test will be how many survive the cold weather and return in the spring.

Getting ready!!!!
I bought this seed to put in this year to grow clover for my rabbit and perhaps make red clover tea. I have set the base and now will add the top soil layer to get ready to seed. There are mixed reviews on the germination. However, clover is generally sturdy once started. I'm hoping this is a good value for my money. I will return with an update by and by. I have white clover growing in another section. I love having a good plant variety for my rabbit and the bees.

Great company with great seeds!!
I bought this when I bought my second bag of Dutch white clover seed. I had such good luck with the white why not give the red a go? I planned to put it in newly made garden beds as a cover crop but never got around to making the beds this spring so I just threw a handful of seeds in with the white clover I was putting in my yard for fun.. we ended up with a pretty dry summer and I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on watering the yard so after I saw the clover had germinated I watered for another week and said you’re on your own! Fast forward to now and as temps have cooled down and I haven’t mowed for a month the clover is growing again. I noticed a handful of clover with really big leaves and at first was like that’s weird but then quickly realized they were the red clover seeds that I threw in that I just figured hadn’t lived. If it can survive the hottest months out of the year with no extra water outside of a little rain and start growing again after a little more rain and slightly cooler temps I am excited to see what it does when it’s actually cared for!! Great company with great products from my experience. Just ordered some of the fine bladed fescue for over-seeding my front yard and expect nothing less than great results from it as well!!

Had to water it 2x a day for a week but the propagation rate was so good it nearly became a problem.

Easy to spread. Lots of seeds

I’m disappointed this seed didn’t germinate. Not one clover anywhere in the area I spread it. Followed all instructions, I bought it because of all the good reviews. I purchased a different brand of clover and it did really well and has grown in perfect. I feel like this brand was a waste of money and time. Pretty hard to return a product that you spread on the ground. Not happy with this at all.
