Excellent Customer Service at HiCozy!
Update: Customer service from HiCozy reached out to me about my complaints. They were very helpful and responsive. HiCozy wanted to make sure I'm a happy customer, so they sent me a replacements It works perfectly! Overall, I'm very happy with the HiCozy ice maker.Previous Comment: When my HiCozy ice maker works, it produces wonderful nugget ice, which I absolutely enjoy. However, my experience with this machine has been far from satisfactory. Right out of the box, the machine started making a persistent and annoying squeaking noise. I initially hoped this would subside after a few uses, but it only got louder with each batch of ice.Additionally, I faced a concerning issue with a dark powdery residue accumulating inside the machine within a day or two of cleaning. Initially, I feared it was mold or mildew, but I later realized it seemed to be a result of the machine's internal wear and tear. The squeaking became so loud that my wife insisted on moving it away from our bedroom.Despite these issues, my love for nugget ice led me to tolerate the noise and regularly clean the machine more often. But six months in, the primary function of making ice started failing. The machine could only produce a few nuggets of ice before shutting off, restarting, and flashing a frustrating white light indicating a malfunction, with no clear resolution.Unfortunately, after just six months of use, I'm left with a non-returnable, noisy, and ineffective machine. My attempts to return it to Amazon were unsuccessful, and a replacement option was not available. This $400 purchase has been a significant disappointment and will certainly affect my future shopping decisions. As much as I loved the nugget ice, my next purchase will not be a HiCozy ice maker.

Hit and miss, but mostly miss.
Update: 3.5 months after purchasing this it is starting to tick me off and all stars it previously had were lost. Previously, I mentioned this thing needs a latch. Now, it needs a damn babysitter. If I activate this, the ice will be produced very quickly and efficiently, which is good. However, if I'm not there to turn it off when it reaches max capacity, the damn thing will push the tray OUT. This means that, if neither of us are there to turn it off, the ice will eventually melt on our counter and create a small lake. Not only that, but even MORE ice will be created, since the bin is no longer there to give it ANY indication it should stop, and the mess will be multiplied.Up until this point, I've just placed heavy cannisters in front of it to keep it closed, but this moring it pushed the bin out with enough force to knock the cannister down and break a bowl. Even after pushing the bin back in, it pushed it out AGAIN!I don't get it. Did NO ONE even consider the concept of a latch? Was this thought never floated about? Are we the only ones with an ice machine that punches the ice bin out when it gets full? Or was the idea of attaching such a SIMPLE mechanism SO difficult and SO expensive that they just couldn't bring themselves to do it? I'll never know. Now, I have to rig up some OTHER way of preventing this thing from spewing ice and water onto our counter and floor, since they couldn't be bothered. Zero stars. We purchased this during the Amazon Prime Day deals, back in July of 2023, and it was a great ice maker at first. It replaced another smaller countertop icemaker that didn't allow for a water intake feed and had a much larger capacity. As mentioned, it was beautiful when we first connected it up. There was a minor amount of machine noise from it, but we figured that was a natural side-effect of the machine doing its thing. Unfortunately, the "machine noise" escalated to the point where it was a constant scraping of metal nails across an old-fashioned school chalkboard...a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG chalkboard. Over time, the screeching became so bad, we couldn't deliberately ignore and tune it out. After contacting the manufacturer, and describing the wailing of the banshees that our machine was emitting, the individual on the other end of the phone said it was a known issue but they had no idea what was causing it. While it was surprisingly refreshing and pleasant to be spoken to in such candor, as opposed to empty apologies and lip service, it was rather alarming that there was a known mechanical issue that the manufacturer was aware of but was at a loss as to how to correct it before shipping the units out the door. However, they sent us a replacement, we sent the other back and it has worked ALMOST perfectly since then. I say ALMOST because, while producing ice (at a nice rate, btw), the amount produced will become so much, and hit the existing ice so hard, that the ice bin will sometimes be pushed out. We have walked into the kitchen to find the ice bin half out of the icemaker and dangling over the counter, where a lot of the ice had melted. It created quite a puddle. For the most part, I have rectified this simply by listening for when the machine sounds like it's REALLY getting enthusiastic about making ice and just pressing the button to tell it to stop. That or I put something heavy in front of the bin to keep it in place.Another "characteristic" is that sometimes it will make the ice bits and other times it will make slush very similar to snow. Both types are fine with us, since that just means we have a icemaker AND a snow cone maker. We just boil a cup of water, a cup of sugar, and a kool-aid packet on the stove for a few minutes, let the mixture cool, and use it as flavored syrup on our snow cones. We don't need the Ice Cream Man here. The slush part was surprising, though, I must admit. When I watched the promo video they have on here, the one where an entire group of people are creepily feasting on plain ice like it's the most delicious pasta in the world, the "snow feature" was never shown. Nor was it shown or mentioned elsewhere. At a minimum, they seriously need to have some kind of latch to keep the bin in the machine that also allows people to remove it without too much difficulty.

Very fast at making ice
I liked the ice makerIt made good ice and was very fast .It would make a glass of ice in a few minutes once it was going .I liked the uv lightIt also was built smaller than most ice makers of its kind .And seemed pretty quietThe only negative is it did not automatically restart making ice . in the morning it would be empty because it made ice till it was full then shut down and melted over night .Not the end of the world but it would definitely be an improvement if you had it on a timer to auto restart after 3 hrsI fixed this problem by buying a switch bot smart switch and programing it to push the button every 3 hours.Over all it is a good ice maker .It didn't have photo eyes to sense how full it was like most do .That is a good thing I've had 3 other ice makers that the eyes went bad on in about a year .Unfortunately we had a leak in ours and had to return it .

Excellent ice maker….little nuggets of ice…
The media could not be loaded. At time of review this ice maker is currently unavailable but I believe this to be priced at £309.99 at time of review….I received this via the vine program in return for my honest and unbiased review….This arrives in a box in a box….and is well secure and protected….This is a heavy machine…..but I managed to unpack and get onto counter topI was a bit sceptical about using this…..as this can be plumbed in or used manually….But I was really surprised how easy this was to use…..This has to be plugged into mains….and there is an on/off switch at back of machine…I had a bit of trouble starting this off at first….as I kept getting a yellow flashing light…..not one to read instructions …I soon worked out that the little flap inside should be closed…….You have to take tray out and fill with water in the bottom…..there is a max line very clearly marked….so do not fill above that line…..There is a button on the front of the machine….press that and machine will start…..I was quite surprised how quiet this is…..Machine takes time to produce ice….about 5 minutes…but longer if your standing watching …like I was doing……Once ice starts to fall it then produces a lot of little cubes….I would say from a tank of water the whole process takes about an hour…..this may seem a long time …but it’s not ….I had to stop machine and empty the ice into a bag for the freezer then started it again and got another big bag of ice……When you take the ice box out of machine use the tray to sit it on as you will get some water dripping….I was looking at my smart meter to see how much electric this would use…and was very surprised at how low the cost would be…..about 6p an hour…..This is a stainless steel with grey trim…..Very easy to use….heavy….allow room around the machine …. Do not push right against other equipment …very quite…..machine will automatically switch off when machine has finished making ice and no more water……Sides of machine observably gets cold……Very happy to recommend this product….If we get another summer like this years summer I will be using this quite a lot….This review was written end of November ….

Ice Maker Fill Water Manually Or Connect To Water Supply
The media could not be loaded. Absolutely fascinated watching this working. The first 5 minutes feels like an hour waiting for the first pieces of ice to be produced and fall into the collection bucket!A Sonic ice maker is a compact home appliance that produces soft and chewable ice that is rectangle in shape and clear.Nothing like the ice that is produced in a tray from a typical household freezer which is chunky and as hard as a rock. This ice maker produces little nugget ice pieces that you can chew without fearing that you will break your teeth! These small-sized ice pieces are softer than regular ice.Unused ice that melts goes back into the reservoir, turning it into more ice. This machine is small and compact, and designed for domestic use.An indicator light shows up when there is insufficient water in the reservoir. The ice maker will also alert you when the ice storage is full. This countertop nugget ice maker is portable. There is an option to manually fill the water tank with water, or an inlet pipe is provided to connect to your water supply to fill automatically. It is advised if the water is 'hard' in your area, it's more suitable to fill the reservoir with purified, distilled, or bottled water. I'm unsure if the tap water is 'hard' or 'soft' in my area, so I purchased some cheap own branded supermarket still water to use in the machine. The water reservoir nicely holds 2 litres of water if filling manually, it sits just below the MAX fill line which is located under the ice collection bucket. It features an in-built self-cleaning function that keeps the appliance clean and running smoothly. The self-dispensing feature makes this ice maker easy to use and mess-free.When in the 'Making Ice' mode the window is lit up in Blue, you are able to see how much ice is in the collection bucket. The machine is capable of producing 55lb of ice nuggets per day. This is more than enough for a typical domestic household. It starts producing ice within 5 mins from switching the machine on. Within an hour the ice machine has filled half the collection bucket.Suitable for home parties, keeps your freezer free from bags and bags of bought ice.Included with the machine is an ice scoop and water inlet pipes.Absolutely brilliant competent ice maker.I'm really happy with this, I can't fault it at all.

UNIT FAILED
UPDATE: After a year and a half of mild usage, the unit completely failed. Will not make ice anymore. It started making strange sounds about a week ago, and today finally quit. I cleaned it regularly throughout it's life. Considering the price of this ice machine, this is EXTREMELY disappointing and there is no way I would recommend this product now.DO NOT BUY THIS!Original review from October 2022:I ordered this product, and it did not get delivered for over 3 months. There were delays with shipping after I ordered it. That was the first annoyance. The second annoyance was that when I started to unbox the unit, it looked like it had already been used. There were scratches on the side, water stains all on the inside, scratches on the scoop as if it had already been used to scoop ice. This was quite concerning, even from a sanitary perspective. The ice that the unit creates is quite amazing, and the rate at which is creates it is excellent. However, regardless of what setting I have it on... it never continues to create ice once the current ice has melted. I always have to manually start the cycle, so I frequently am left with no fresh ice when I need it. I'm unsure if there is something wrong with the sensor or what, but that is an issue. For the price, I would expect a NEW and unused unit, and one that works properly in all aspects.Pros 👍:✔ Ice creation speed✔ Ice itself✔ Easy to useCons👎:✘ I received a pre-owned unit✘ Bad sensor✘ PriceScore:★ ★ ★Conclusion:I would not recommend this product for the price and bad unit I received
