This review is primarily for the blind customers because many of us rely heavily on devices that talk. The only problem I had with this device was to discover the location of the battery compartment and how then to access it. Batteries are inserted via an opening on the underside of the handle. The cover slides towards the butt of the handle once you discover which depression to exert pressure upon. After the batteries have been installed, some exploration of the various buttons will soon reveal the function of each. I have used this device many times with no difficulties. I have compared its output with that of the devices used by several visiting nurses and the results are comparable.

This is an excellent and fun unit to use. It is fast. It does talk and the voice is clear, however, a blind or visually impaired person may need help when they first receive the unit because the menues don't talk. For example, it would be easy to be measuring room temps when you want to measure body temps. Once you understand the unit it will work fine though. Eco4us sent a manual in PDF which arrived before the unit, which was very helpful

We've had this IR thermometer in hand for a few weeks now and used it often enough to rate it. I'm thoroughly satisfied with the accuracy, and appreciate the IR (no-contact) feature and clear voice response. Accuracy is obviously important and we've had opportunity to confirm our unit's performance with other types of thermometers. The display is bright, clear, and adequate in size for typical vision. This is a hand-held device and nicely designed for that purpose. Battery life seems good, though we've not had adequate time to assess it. In addition, there's a "room" feature that is convenient way to monitor room temps in our old country home. If I could rate it higher I would. The price point was good for quality of this unit.

I've only had the thermometer for a week or so but it surely fits the bill for me. It is very easy to use and for me, as a blind man, is perfect with the voice readout. I've paid more for talking oral thermometers that were no more accurate and still didn't give room and surface temperature. I surely recommend!

Slick, very easy to operate, and the most important, one doesn’t have to struggle and stress crying child to check the temperature. It is done from 1 ½ to 2 inch distance, and it reads, and speaks the temperature instantly. It can be switched from Celsius to Fahrenheit. It can be set to read body temperature, surface temperature and room temperature. For all of the germophobics there is no cross contamination, since the thermometer does not have to touch anything.

I am a physician in a specialty that doesn't usually use temperature as a required vital sign. When the COVID-19 outbreak started and our office needed a thermometer we couldn't get one. I'd bought this one a few months earlier theough Amazon and brought it in. We have used it daily on every patient and employee for more than a month, on average at least 150 times a day weithout failure or needeing to cool down. It's even still using the first set of batteries from when I purchased it.I've never had a digital thermometer that worked as well as a mercury thermometer until I bought this one, and it works faster. When it becomes available again, my office will be buying a couple of them, and it will become my standard gift for baby showers.

I am blind, customer service sent a manual in the pdf format before the unit arrived. after listening to the manual, I could not figure out how to open the battery compartment, or figure out which buttons were which. I contacted customer service, they replied with how to open the battery compartment and which buttons were which. the unit powers up with the English voice working. it is simple and easy to use. I can not say enough about the customer service they answered all of my questions.

This product has an amazing concept that I just wish worked a little better. Working the night shift in a nursing home, I loved that I could get a resident’s temperature without touching them and disturb their sleep as little as possible. However, I find that it routinely measures a few degrees lower than other thermometers. When measuring the temperature really matters, I tend to use something else. But for vital signs every shift, I’m all about making it less invasive.
