Great for adding texture and volume I use this styling powder to make my hair look more messy while adding volume and texture. It gives my hair a lightweight feel and doesn’t leave it looking shiny or greasy. I think it works especially well if you have longer hair and want more texture or root lift. A little goes a long way, so the small container lasts longer than I expected. Overall, a great styling product for creating a textured look.

FINAL UPDATE! Purchased March 27, 2024, used daily until today April 17, 2025! I clearly love this product. Many reviews were commenting that the bottle was "half full." Yes this is true, but not because they're being cheap. You need to have room in the bottle for this to shake and airate... otherwise it could clump. That said... this product only needs 1 or 2 light taps and it does the trick. I have never used hair powder before this, and I'm sold. I don't think I'll ever mess with mousse, gel, spray, maybe even pomade... ever again! UPDATE: 3 months of daily use and it's still plenty. I'm telling you, a little goes a long way. It makes your hair look natural, with volume, AND moldable. (This is the only product that seems to to this effectively.) It takes a little getting used to. I apply it directly to my hair. Also, as my hair grows out there are parts that stick out more than a small amount of power can handle. Rather than wasting more powder and making my hair crunchy, I use a little pomade. (So I guess all these products still have their uses.) Overall, I really like the way my hair looks... like there is no product at all. Update: 4 months now still plenty. Update: 7 months and I think its running low, but I expect at least another month or more. I mentioned the powder and how great it was at my salon and they said... "oh YEAH! Powder is great for adding texture." Which... I guess is what this does, but in a way that holds.

Solid product. Different than most things, you get flexible hold for completely dry hair. works well with my medium length

This product styles hair amazing & keeps it held all day! It does seem to dry out your hair a lot though! It makes your hair have a ‘dryer’ look compared to gels ‘ wet’ look. It definitely styles it great though. I would recommend at least being consistent with conditioning your hair, if you’re going to use this product. I love the results though. Its worth a try! It does seem expensive for how small it is, but this product lasts a long time- even with daily use. It is powder, so it will get messy. Just use it over the sink.

My son likes it a lot. It doesn't take much and his hair stays textured until he washes it out. & it's s kind of like a dried mousse so if he combs his hair down it just stays put. So it's pretty versatile. We've purchased 3 boxes so far.

Great styling powder for men. It is a little pricey you may not want to buy it for a regular use.

Had high hopes for this product - I have mostly fine hair, ~3" long on the top, and I wanted something that would give my hair volume without weighing it down with product. The first time I tried this, I shook a healthy amount directly into the top of my hair, mussed it around, and it mostly held in the way I wanted - volume, good shape, natural color and look. I tried a couple times after that, and couldn't replicate the results from the first time. I tried shaking the powder onto my head like the first time, but couldn't get it to hold (and ended up with powder on my shirt). I rubbed it on my hands and tried working into my hair, but I had to do so many rounds and it still didn't hold where I wanted it to (loose hairs on the side and bangs). Perhaps my hands have too much natural oil that's absorbing too much powder before it gets to my head. It was worth a shot to try a new thing, and I'll keep experimenting with the rest of the bottle, so we'll see if I figure it out, but don't see myself repurchasing this product or any powder hair product in general. A couple notes: 1) I went for a run after putting this in my hair, and it did not hold up to the heat/sweat/exertion 2) As soon as water touches this (e.g. shower), my hair turned into a gross sticky congealed mat. It wasn't immediately water soluble like normal products, I had to gently lather in the shampoo to wash it out. Would be a bit concerned/curious about what would happen in the rain...

I am female, but this was recommended to me by my hair stylist and it works well. My hair is very fine and thinning as I age!

Excellent: 1) the volume is smaller than I expected, but I haven't ran out of it after two months use 2) the product works as described, easy to apply and style your hair with it 3) it's not as sticky and smelly as hair gel and hair wax 4) the downside of this product is the time for shipment. It takes about two weeks to ship it to Canada (maybe because it was from UK?)

I bought the Slick Gorilla hair styling powder for my sons and my husband and they all absolutely love it. It gives their hair great volume and texture without making it look greasy or heavy. The finish is natural and matte, which looks much better than shiny gels or waxes. It is really easy to use, just a small amount shaken onto the roots and worked through with fingers. It holds the style well throughout the day but still allows the hair to move naturally. They also like that it does not leave any sticky residue on their hands. This has definitely become a regular in our house now. Great product, works well on different hair types and keeps their styles looking fresh all day.

The best hairstyling product I have ever used. It's incredibly light and doesn't weigh hair down at all yet it has great hold and can create a lot of volume. It has no smell at all so can use it with other products without coming out smelling like a lush store. It also does not seem to wash out with only water so rain/snow/sweat won't ruin your hair. Then for fun I tried measuring with a scale about how much I use each time and it's literally a few milligrams, while the container has 20 grams. So you get a lot of uses per purchase. Current routine with short/medium wavy thick hair is to shower, use some leave in conditioner, blowdry on medium heat then sprinkle in some powder and spread it with my hands and it's good. Lasts an entire day without any issues.
