Very Handy
This electric burner has been really handy to have around. It heats up quickly and works great for cooking an extra dish when my stove is full or for using in an RV or on the patio. The temperature control is simple to use, and itโs sturdy and easy to wipe clean. Itโs a great little burner that does exactly what itโs supposed to do.

Great little burner for outdoor use
Pros: small, portable, can be used outside, heats wellCons: On/off markings on dial disappear; takes a long time to cool offWith COVID, recent rise in restaurant prices, and diminished restaurant service, I started grilling burgers myself on a regulator basis - but it really smelled-up the kitchen. So I bought the CUSIMAX to fry hamburgers outside on our deck.It was the most powerful single burner I could find that worked on 120v.I've been using it about 3-4X a week for a month and the CUSIMAX works great.Takes a little longer to get to full heat than our electric oven's stove top burner. But it gets more than hot enough to fry burgers and steaks. For burgers I use 4 min warm-up time + 4 min cooking time = 2 perfect burgers every time!(On our regular stove, I only used a 2 min warm-up time.)Takes a very long time to for burner surface to cool down - so be careful!I only use it a medium or high so I don't know how sensitive the temperature control is.My only minor complaint, as others have mentioned, is that the on/off markings began to immediately wear off due to grease from frying burgers. They obviously didn't test this or didn't care. They could have solved this by simply etching (rather than printing) the markings on to the dial.Otherwise, this is very good item for the cost. I am very satisfied with it.

Awesome
All the power goes to one burner. It boiled my water beautifully. I love it. I would recommend it over the two burner when only half the power goes to the burner and I had difficulty making spaghetti. This came to a full boil and cooked my zucchini and potatoes.

Nice Unit
So far really like this unit.1 - Heats up fast - got to 300 degrees in less than 30 seconds. (it does get hotter just used this as a baseline)2 - 2 knob control which is a good feature as you can leave the heat setting where you want and turn it off with the other knob. (like when you're straining something and will be going back to finish cooking etc.3 - Good weight - It's not so light that when you're vigorously shaking a pan for stir fry or flipping items it stays in place.4 - The unit does get hot, this is from radiant heat so don't grab it to move it. The knobs get very slightly warm but not hot. I have this on a wooden cooking cart I use for streaming and it does not get hot under the unit. There is no scorching to the countertop. There are vents under the unit so do not put this on a towel or anything that may block the vents.5 - Size is great! I also love that the sides of the unit don't come up so high and allow me to put a larger pot/pan on it with ease.

It will definitely smell the first few times you use it!
So, in the first probably few weeks you will most likely smell a smell of the cast iron settling in and getting rid of that industrial smell, I personally ran a cord outside and let it run for many hours to avoid the smell, run it outside on a nice day.Reasons I love this grill:It can boil water, unlike some electric grills which take way longer to get things to the boiling point, if I set this grill up and just be patient about 10 minutes longer than gas would take, so set it and forget it while I prep other things I can count on this hot plate to boil water and save me the gas from the butane grill that I use for other things. I honestly am debating on getting a few more of these to have around! They are great for a cooktop replacement.Reasons I don't like this grill:It is harder to control the temperature of this grill due to the fact that is a cast iron plate, it takes a very very long time to get this hot plate to lower temperature due to the cast iron hot plate attached, I would not use this plate on items that require temperatures being lowered and raised for different cooking needs, I would use this as a quick/efficient hot plate that can take on the tasks that require a very hot surface to cook like the following- boiling, searing steaks, soups, chili. My Situation:I live in a finished loft apartment that I rent out more like a room with an extended bathroom, we had permission from the landlord to make a kitchen-like area, but a stove seems like an excessive add-on, so I use conventional toaster ovens for baking/cooking and Hot plates for cooking our food on a stove, it has worked out great so far it actually feels like a full apartment, just with a few extra steps. The Landlord let us put a sink in to help with dishes & a countertop too! What that means is I've used this grill a lot since the time I bought it, I have no complaints minus the fact that it can be pretty hard to clean & that sometimes it takes a long time to cool off but that's cast iron, those are just facts of life.
