Butterfly Pea Flower Seeds for Planting, 50+ Seeds Clitoria Ternatea

I tried a tip from a friend for germination using about 20 seeds. The germination rate was almost 100%. Steps as following (1) soak the seeds in water overnight (2) sandwiche the soaked seeds in between moist paper towels (3) keep the seed/paper towel “sandwiches” in a dark place (I used a black to-go plastic food container with lid on (4) allow ventilation to avoid mold growth (I simply opened the lid daily to check progress). Here is my observation of the germination process. For the first 12-ish days there seemed nothing happened. Then a few of the beans started to swell in size and then started to sprout in a few days. The skinnier/weaker looking beans took longer to sprout, about 3 weeks. But eventually I have more seedlings than I need out of the 20 seeds. In April I planted one seedling in the ground in a sunny spot. And another one in a gallon size pot. The one in the ground really took off after July when the day light became long and temperature gets high (in Houston Texas).it blooms profusely, attracting bumblebees. And hummingbirds like the flowers as well. The one in the pot did grow to reasonable size but barely has any flowers.

It took a while for the seeds to germinate but definitely worth the wait to be rewarded with beautiful blue blossoms each day.

Excellent germination, 2 seasons later I still have plenty seeds left and have since gained many more from many healthy plants. The flowers are great for tea and my wife now has an endless supply!

Hardly any of them germinated. I soaked the seeds in water for a day and scratched the shell a bit, then planted some in containers and some in the ground. Out of all 50 seeds, only 3-4 have sprouted. Was a waste of money.

Planted 6 weeks ago and they are blooming already. Such a beautiful color purple. Haven’t gotten any peas yet but hopefully will before it get too cold.

I planted the seeds that I purchased, which were of good quality and the seedlings have started growing into small plants. Hope it continues to grow into plants and eventually produce me blue flowers as shown in the picture.

Delicious tea that you can drink any time. The blooming on the cup with the hot water looks beautiful and if lemon is added, it changes it color and taste better You can combine with any other kind of tea, but itself is refreshing and pleasant. Very good quality. People say it is good for your brain health. Price is affordable.

Well, the vines took a long time to grow and just started to bloom. Of the first two flowers that bloomed, one is a double and the other, single. The description said double flowers but they mixed in singles as well. That’s why they give so many seeds which I don’t need.
