If you are reading this review, you are overthinking this.
Listen, folks, if you are looking for a pocket notebook, look no further. I will say it may lead to a dynamic shift in your normal pocketing procedure, since this little book it thick enough to require its own pocket. But if you need to jot down notes in a hurry, this little book is where it's at. Quality craftmanship with an elastic loop to keep it closed and a slick little pocket in the back, which may be superfluous since you could only keep pages you tore out of your notebook in there, but whatever. If you are scatterbrained or absent minded and if you don't trust your cell phone with your notes, then this is the notebook you have been looking for.

lives up to its claims!
i've always found Those Famous Pocket Notebooks overrated (you know the ones i mean!). this little fella, however, is fantastic and does what it says on the tin. the paper is definitely better than other pocket notebooks on the market—even my dip pen ink doesn't bleed through, and for that matter it barely even shows on the opposite side. like, you know how you can see the 'ghost' of writing when you turn over to write on the back side of a page (not bleeding through, just a tint)? there's barely one at all, and again that's with some pretty intense ink that likes to bleed through most things. i can confidently say that this paper would hold up to fountain pens, which seems to be the bar by which lots of people measure paper quality. i want to get like ten more of these lol, A++ would highly recommend to anyone who stands still long enough

A great buy
A great purchase. I grew attached to my Hufflepuff notebook I bought at Universal at Potter World, and when the pages started to fill up I needed to find something to replace it (preferably not so expensive). This one saved me 6 bucks or so, and the differences are almost non-existent. Hardcover, clean pages, nothing torn or damaged, pocket in the back of the notebook, elastic band and page marker. It's slightly thicker than the notebook I had before, but I can deal with an extra 1/12" or so. I will be buying more of these if they're still available when I fill this one up!

Really great pocket notebook
Really great pocket notebook. I'm a medical student and have been using it to take notes while in the hospitals. I think it looks really professional and doesn't have any problems with ink bleeding through the pages. The one thing I wish I could change about the book is the hard cover. If the cover was made of a softer more bendable material it would make it much easier to flip through pages and fit into small pockets.

High quality and perfect to keep in your purse/backpack.
This little notebook arrived right on time and it's perfect for what I needed -- a smallish notebook to keep in my purse. (I didn't want to use a flimsy wirebound notebook because the paper gets crunched up and wrinkled.)This little hardback is sturdy enough to survive a lot of use -- plus it has an elastic band to hold it closed. Another thing I like is that the paper is of substantial quality -- ink doesn't show through unless you use a Sharpie.I will definitely buy one again. It's the perfect notebook for keeping up with prayer requests.

Perfect for Fountain Pens! Ditch the Moleskin
I was a little hesitant about this notebook. I love the Moleskin form factor but hated Moleskin paper for fountain pens. This 100gsm paper is much thicker than Rhodia paper which is 80gsm. This paper performs really well. No bleed through on even my wettest nibs like my Sailor with a zoom nib and architect grind. Just the faintest of feathering that doesn't bother me for quick notes. At this price, it's a no brainer. Sure it could have nice things like perforations or individual page numbering but that would drive the cost way up.

OVERALL, NOT AS GOOD AS MOLESKINE, BUT I HAVE TO WAIT & SEE HOW IT HOLDS UP...
I ordered this pocket notebook based on the paper being thicker than Moleskine (70 gsm), Leuchtturm (80 gsm) and Rhodia (90 gsm). I've been using the 3.5" X 5.5" Moleskine for many years. Both are made in China. Both have 192 pages. I'd like to have more pages. Both are acid-free. The "bonus" labels that are included, seem more of an after thought, and is something that Moleskine does not have, but Leuchtturm does much better. The SuperiorMaker is 18 mm thick (because of using thicker paper, 100 gsm), while the Moleskine is 12 mm thick (70 gsm). Unfortunately, because I didn't look at the picture, I didn't realize the SuperiorMaker only has 19 lines (7 mm), while the Moleskine (6 mm) has 22 lines. That is a big difference. However, the hope is that it will be easier to write smaller on the lines. In addition the Leuchtturm's pages are already numbered. That saves time. The SuperiorMaker seems to be nice quality, and is smyth-sewn. The elastic closure on the SuperiorMaker (7 mm) is a little wider, compared to the Moleskine (5 mm). Will that allow its elasticity to hold up longer? The page marker is much nicer than Moleskine's and is 'finished' at the end so it will not fray. The pocket on the SuperiorMaker is made with thinner cardstock than the Moleskine, which is not good, since it is promoted as having thicker paper. In addition the end leaves on the Moleskine are thicker than the SuperiorMaker's. The Moleskine's cover is made of 'grippier' material (oilcloth over cardboard), making it resistant to moisture; but in some places it has started to separate. I'm not sure if SuperiorMaker's less tactile material will be as sturdy. I use mine hard, because I put phone numbers in, passwords, websites, and a lot of other information. It is indispensable. It is really a pain in the hiney to re-copy all of my information every couple years because these books wear out. I don't mind spending money on them if they would last. But they don't seem to. Overall, the SuperiorMaker doesn't seem to be up the the standards of the Moleskine, but the proof will be in seeing whether it holds up to rigorous use.ONE YEAR ASSESSMENT: Actually a little longer, I started using it 11/04/17. It is performing like a champ. There are absolutely no issues. I'm pretty impressed. I'm in this thing almost everyday, and I carry it in my shoulder bag. The binding is intact and tight, and the envelope in the back is full and doing great. The elastic enclosure is still tight and there are no issues with the cover. This notebook is the clear choice for the money.

Great organizational tool for sloppy writers
I think I have now bought six or eight of these. They are a good size for an average briefcase. I use them to take notes on the fly in court, to keep track of my finances, or to make notes when I have no other paper. I like the ruled version better. That's because my writing is very sloppy. I've been much more organized since I've had these journals and I finally have many uses in my office. If you need a little help organizing yourself these are a must-try.
