This Brondell Bidet - Thinline SimpleSpa SS-150 is one terrific product! I ordered this bidet after reviewing the customer comments on a number of similar bidets costing less than $100. Not only was the price a deciding factor, prior customers reviews were glowing and frequently quite entertaining! In addition, I liked the simple design because it facilitated ease of cleaning. Now for my personally sobering experience. I ordered the Brondell Bidet for use on the following toilet in my master bathroom which has straight sides in the back for ease of cleaning: - Kohler K-3654 Persuade Dual Flush Unfortunately, this design would not accommodate the Brondell Bidet, even after I paid a plumber $262 to install an adapter valve at the water shut off valve. It turns out that the "deck" where the toilet seats attach on both these toilets was too deep to accommodate the design of the Brondell Bidet. 5/27/20 Update: Now for the good news: After over a year of procrastination, and with lots of time on my hands during this Covid quarrantine, I finally decided to try again to install my Brondell SS-150 on the following toilet: American Standard Cadet Model #2989.101.020 Concealed Trapway, which has a self closing toilet seat. As you will note from the picture, there was a very tight space between the toilet and the shower next to it. Combine this with the fact that since recovering from bilateral carpal tunnel surgery, I have limited hand strength. As a result, my installation became more challenging. In the 2nd pix, the existing adapter at the bottom of the toilet tank is clearly marked "Hand Tighten. Use No Tools". Unfortunately, given my lack of hand strength I used a wrench to loosen it, turned it the wrong way and consequently created an invisible crack causing it to leak when I tried to reattach it. So I had to purchase a $8.00 replacement from my local (wonderful) plumbing supply house. By the way, you will need to use a small 7" tongue & groove pliers wrench to loosen the plain metal connector. All of which is to say, this installation is quite possible, and eventually was wildly successful! I gave a 2nd Brondell Bidet to a friend and helped her install it. Because her toilet had a rigid pipe from under the toilet tank to the shut off valve near the floor, we had to make a stop at our local plumbing supply house to obtain a 12" flexible braided hose to complete the proper connection. The specifics are clearly spelled out in the installation guide accompanying the Brondell Bidet. We needed a broad flat bladed screw driver to loosen the toilet seat anchor bolts, and both a large and a small adjustable wrench to deal with the various nuts. Following our successful installation, each of us privately took turns trying out the bidet. Voila! We could not have been more pleased with the simple operation and effectiveness of the bidet which is operated on the right side of the toilet. Although we installed it in January, the cool water was not at all uncomfortable - could be considered soothing to those with "issues". The force of the spray is effortless to adjust. By the way we are ladies in our 70's. Although I plan to buy more of these bidets as gifts for my family members - won't they be surprised!! But now I have to hunt for a bidet which suits my less than common Kohler toilet.

There are lots of different brands out there although this one was a great price and seems like great quality it offers both a feature to clean you and it offers a self-cleaning head feature to rinse off the actual nozzle itself. It looks very clean on the toilet and does not have some big imprint or tons of things hanging off. The pressure at full pressure is pretty extreme I generally only crack it open maybe 10% to do the job. It includes Teflon tape and the necessary hoses and fittings it took me about 10 minutes to install I am pretty handy but I don’t think it would take too much longer if this was your first time.

I stumbled across the this by accident and became intrigued with the concept and the surprisingly low price. Like many I though the only way to have something like this would be a dedicated until costing several thousand dollars, so I was skeptical that a $20-something dollar "O-ring cleaner" would be worth the effort to install. But I took the plunge just to find out and I am glad I did! First, let me say that not having heated water spraying out is not at all uncomfortable and probably helps the user tell it's working. If the water were warmed it would be harder to feel exactly where it hit, and unheated water taken directly from the supply line is not at all too cold. Just wanted to get that out of the way. The entire unit is surprisingly simple. This model is very flat which is good because it mounts between the toilet seat and toilet and adds so little thickness there is no need to worry about the toilet seat being flexed, or having to mount thick spacers to the bottom of the toilet seat. Installation per the supplied instructions went very smoothly and leak free. The first test run went perfectly. I was surprised that when the valve extends it sprays water PRECISELY on the O-ring and a little rock forward or back - or sideways, easily hits any spot that needs it. Also, the force of water starts out gentle and gets surprisingly strong as the control is rotated. It's best to just crack the control at first, then increase flow to avoid a sudden blast that could be uncomfortable. The spray valve provides far more pressure than I can imagine anyone needing - but it's there. Also, because the feed hose comes off the tank line, if the sprayer is activated while the tank is refilling and adjusted to "best feel" when the tank water is full and the tank valve closes, water pressure to the portable bidet will surge and could be painful. For this and other reasons it's best to always keep your hand on the control valve so you can shut the flow off instantly if needed. All the "green" people should be snapping these up...since installing it our household toilet paper usage has plummeted! No more having to "wipe" multiple times with the hand down in the toilet area! Now, the water stream takes care of getting the O-ring CLEAN with a small amount of paper to dry the area, or wait a few moments and it will "air dry." Plus the sensation of being CLEAN after flexing the O-ring is really nice. I HIGHLY recommend others buy one of these....THIS ONE has proven to be durable and reliable and trouble-free, and it was amazingly inexpensive, so naturally recommend this specific model, but even if one doesn't like this model, ANY model that serves the purpose is a huge improvement over the "system" we all grew up with!

This has been a total game changer for me. I always would wet my toilet paper because I couldn't feel clean otherwise and it was a hassle if the bathroom sink was out of reach from the toilet, like in some apartments I've lived in. Especially one rental house where the owner insisted on a luxury bathroom that apparently meant the toilet, sink, and bathtub were all located in separate rooms. So when I started hearing about the proliferation of bidets in the US and how they were finally no longer some expensive niche curiosity, I took a gamble on this washlet to try it out. Oh my goodness, it has been amazing. No longer do I have to fumble and stretch reaching over to the sink and trying not to get water everywhere. Setup was really easy. I watched a video another reviewer provided and in 15 minutes I was done. It's a little more complicated to clean the toilet but a toothbrush works well getting in the cracks. We live in a very very humid environment, so mildew growth on the nozzle can be an issue. This is cold water only, which I prefer. That makes it simpler to install and no outlet needed (which is nice since the only outlet is on the opposite wall). Though in winter that can be...challenging. We have milder winters but during below freezing temperatures, the water can be a bit numbing in places that shouldn't be numb. This also worked well despite our abysmally low water pressure due to an antique water main. Abysmally low as in there was yelling if someone got water from a faucet while someone else was in the shower and we had to wait for the toilet to fill before washing our hands. Despite that, this had good pressure (as long as no one else was using water). We've since had our water main replaced and the pressure from the bidet increased significantly. It took a bit to get used to the new pressure but fortunately the easy-to-use controls made it simple to dial in the right pressure. That being said, I think the build quality can be an issue. It was working fine for a while but then the nozzle stopped retracting. It's possible this is due to our hard water, but cleaning it didn't fix it. Yesterday I took it off to give it a thorough cleaning, especially in the areas where I couldn't reach otherwise. When I put it back on, the spray didn't hit where it did before. I thought I knocked something around, but nothing was loose. After playing with it a bit, I realized there was a leak in the nozzle somewhere and there was a second spray shooting out the back of the nozzle, which also caused water to pool underneath the gasket and drip down the hole onto the floor. Maybe if the nozzle was stainless instead of plastic, it would have lasted longer. I was unable to fix it, so I'm waiting for a replacement to come. The price is good enough that I don't mind so much. I've had it for two and a half years and have been otherwise pleased. Other than it springing a leak on me, the only other downside is staying overnight anywhere else is annoying because I miss my bidet.

What a great device. Easy to install, easier to use. It does exactly what it says it does, clean one’s nether areas. What really surprised me is how strong the water flow is without any electricity. The pressure is easily adjustable. We do not have warm water close to the toilet, so we use cold water, but that is not an issue. It’s not as unpleasant as it sounds. All in all, great little device. I recommend it highly.

Love these. Fantastic. Bidets will change your life and this is a great one. You’ll save tons of money on toilet paper, you’ll never go back. You’ll be happier, youll jump higher and reconsider your life choices. Super simple all it requires is to be hooked to the tank. No batteries or electronics. One of the nice features is that it’s a turn handle so you can have a very light flow being sprayed or you can crank it all the way and blast a layer of skin off. Typically people crank it the first time and then i hear a “whoa!” As cold water blasts them. But that’s easy to avoid. Two functions one is spray which again you control the amount of by turning the handle, and then a self clean function. The clean function is not really needed as the nozzle is shielded but it’s nice to have and it can help clean the toilet actually. When traveling or at someone else’s house and they don’t have one... it’s such a bummer. There is another brand that’s way expensive involving your “Tush” that is getting a lot of marketing attention—This Brondell is a 1/4 the price and does the exact same. Well made as Brondell is an quality bidet maker. It’s thin and sleek looking and doesn’t take over the toilet. This is the third one I have bought for my house and as gifts, everyone I know who has used it comes away wanting one. Easy to install for even people not so well inclined, lots of videos online to help you if needed but super easy! Just turn the water off to your toilet which is behind the tank from the wall. Take off the seat. Follow the clear instructions. Note on that down below. The only downside is that one of the two images on the bidet controls are not super clear. The “clean” function which keeps the nozel clean and also helps clean your toilet bowl which is nice - looks like a battery image. Which is odd. As far as instructions again super easy, I have installed two brands this was far easier than the first one I installed. Took me about 30 mins. You don’t need many tools at all, wrench and a screwdriver. The two things in the instructions they could improve: 1. There is a black gasket that goes inside one of the hoses. This was not in the hose when opened, I think it’s aupposed to be and it took me a min to figure out which way it went in the hose and which one. But it’s not too hard to figure out and lots of online tutorials. Also they do provide plumbers thread tape to prevent leaks, and they could explain better how to use for those that haven’t but again super simple once you know. Please get a bidet. Everyone should have one, many benefits!

I was attempting to re-use a similar category basic bidet from another company, and while looking for Tee Fittings and Hoses, stumbled across this complete package for just a few dollars more then I could find the hardware pieces separately. The "other" bidet had horrible, horrible plastic fittings with straight washers and plastic lines. A disaster waiting to happen. I chose this as a whole kit, and very very happy. The fittings fit exactly how US Standard Toilet hoses and seals are designed. The Tee fitting seamlessly integrated between the tank and the supply hose, utilizing the very reliable cone washer already in standard supply hoses (the "other" brand had a sloppy plastic tee, with its own flat washers). The control hose from the Tank Tee to the Controller is steel braided reinforced hose. The length is very long, and could accommodate just about any configuration of tank I would imagine. If the extra length is a concern, since it is a standard hose, you could easily replace it with a shorter off the shelf hose to your liking. I chose to keep mine with a loop in it for now. The overall assembly is streamlined, and fits in tight spaces. The only potential downside is if you need the controls on the left hand side, I do not see a way to reverse that. Since I needed them on the right side, I'm maintaining 5 star review. Operation is super simple. The only control is pressure, which is actually very well controlled by how far you turn the knob, and has quite a large range from slow to fast. Full open is likely more pressure then you'll ever want. There is no temperature control, just whatever supply water temperature is. There is no directional control, other then aligned the nozzle when you install the assembly. Accuracy is spot on and repeatable after 2 months of use. A nice feature is there's an automatic spray guard that covers the nozzle unless it's in use. This could prevent a disasterous flood if for some reason something failed open. The water would stay directed into the bowl - same as if you turn the control knob the other direction, which is the cleaning feature. Item was well packaged and received in a nice looking slim box with everything bagged and new. Installation was a breeze, with only a large phillips screwdriver needed for the toilet lid, and either a wrench or pliers to gently snug the metal hose connections if you prefer.

OK, this is a product that's hard to review for its function and be tactful and not give to much TMI in the process. Bare with me as I attempt to do just that. 1st- it was easy to install with good instructions and well packaged. I chose it for the look and simple knob. One direction to clean itself, the other direction to clean you. A WORD OF CAUTION WHEN YOU TEST IT BEFORE YOU USE IT- make sure you turn it correctly to self clean if you're not sitting down, otherwise be prepared for the unwanted shower or face cleanse depending on how far you're bending down. 2nd, Using it- This is my 1st time using a product like this. I was concerned about the product's "aim" so to speak, as well as the water pressure. Well, all I can say is that it hit the bullseye (great pressure too). If this is your first time too, then you will probably make the same expression I did and there is an emoji that's perfect- 😳. There are numerous benefits to using a device like this. I can only advise about the reasons I got this and how it applies to my needs. Again, I'll be as tactful as I can, and you may need to read in-between the lines. I am a 53 year old single male who is moderately hairy. I don't cook often, which means I eat out a lot and don't have the best diet. I go to the bathroom a lot and have to use an excessive amount of toilet paper to keep clean (the reasons I mentioned the above). That's a lot of wear and tear on the body. I tried wipes, but trust me when I say that their idea of biodegradable involves years. You will soon learn this when you have to snake your main 75 feet sewer line 8 times and retrieve 2 buckets of used wipes (google baby wipes clogging sewer lines if you dare). The bottom line, no pun intended, is that I use less toilet paper (and less time using that paper), I'm cleaner, less iratated, and I don't clog my main line with wipes. It's a win-win all around. So happy I got this. My 😳 went to 😁 after a few times getting use to it and I won't ever have a toilet in my home without one ever again. Fun fact- when I was 13, my friend's parents had bidets in all the bathrooms of their home. I asked his mother (who had a sense of humor) what the bidets were for and she told me they were fancy devices to wash your feet. She was obviously kidding, but I spent years thinking what a wasted use of space just to wash feet. 🤣🤣🤣

The threading on T-valve and hose are for US specifications and cannot be used in the UK. I have not been able to find a correct adaptor. Amazon should not offer these for sale on its .uk site.

The Brondell Thinline SimpleSpa SS-150 is a great product and has worked really well for our family. It’s very easy to use, even for kids, and all the functions work perfectly. Installation and daily use are simple and convenient. One thing I really like is its durability — it has lasted around 3–4 years without any issues. Good quality, reliable, and definitely worth the purchase!
