Sheep skin, memory foam and good craftsmanship. This is simply the best boat shoe there is. There is absolutely nothing that compares when it comes to comfort. It is like walking on a cloud. Yes, they cost more and they are WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY! They are correct sizes and available in wide for people with extra wide feet. You WILL get compliments.

Great shoes. My size is between an 11.5 to 12 in men's. I decided to take a chance and go with the 11.5 for I like my shoes to fit a little snug rather than a little loose, also considering they were purely leather I assumed that they would stretch with time. Since arrival they are a little snug, but with time and wear, I presume they will adjust to my foot and will end being the perfect size. So far, they look and feel great and with further use I presume I will like them more and more (also, I am extremely picky with my footwear). In addition, I spent the extra money for the gold edition as I can usually get at least 5-10 years out of my shoes assuming they are decent quality. I had a Billabong shirt last me seven years with daily use, which is pretty incredible.......You pay for what you get. Too early for a thorough review, but as of now I can say I am pleased with my purchase.

Shoes were exactly as described. Fit was perfect. Very comfortable on my feet especially with the lambskin inner lining (can't wear unlined or rough leather against my skin). The blue color goes well with shorts and pants. First time with Sperry and will continue if they stand up to normal wear. Update (July 8, 2002) - Still very comfortable. For those interested, I can compare these with the top of the line Gold Cup crafted in Maine by noting the differences. The GC A/O are softer and comfortable from day 1 due to the lambskin lining, thinner full grain leather and Ortholite footbed. The outsoles are more flexible because of the rubber material. The GC CiM have thicker Horween leather that is perforated on the interior with small holes to provide a smooth surface for your bare skin, a diffrent orthotic foot bed insert and Vibram outsole. They are firmer but should soften during use as they conform to your feet.

I love Sperry's - I've been wearing A/Os since I was about 12 years old, back when we just called them topsiders. All summer long, I'd sail in them every weekend and they'd be with me getting wet at the beach. And every 7, 8, TEN! years or so, it'd be time to retire a pair and start breaking in a new one. In the last few years, I've gone through no less than THREE pairs. The soles split and rubber breaks off in chunks, leaving me with a Sperry moccasin. The stitching rips, the inner support pad tears out. I finally decided to "upgrade" to the Gold Cup, which I bought three months ago and was told was of more "traditional" Sperry quality. Within a month, the stitching between the sole and leather was separating. I let it ride. Just a few days ago, the cheap inner pad - which was barely stitched flush to the shoe base in the first place and now comes as two thin pieces instead of a single strong inner lining, pulled out with my foot after I finished mowing the lawn. I thought the company I loved would make it right, as the Sperry website lists their shoes as having a one year replacement warranty for defect. They TOTALLY passed the buck to Amazon (I purchased these sold by Amazon not some random third party). It was outside of Amazon's return window, but because they still believe in customer service they offered me a return and credit. I declined - it wasn't their problem, it was Sperry refusing to back their once quality shoe. And besides - I've learned my lesson. It's not like I was going to use that credit to buy a new pair of topsiders - I'll let these ride until they fall apart in a year or so like all my other recent top siders and lament the loss of yet one more once quality brand that sacrificed cheap knockoffs for a few extra bucks in profit. Sad moment for me.

Top. Mit der Grösse hatte ich Glück, passt genau. Erster Eindruck super Qualität und sehr bequem. Alles weitere wird sich zeigen wenn ich die Schuhe länger getragen habe.
