My absolute favorite bulbs
I LOVE the color of these bulbs. They make everything in my rooms look better. They do tint slightly pink instead of yellow as other reviewers have mentioned which I didnโt think would be something I would like but actually is nice. They also dim well and seem high quality. I have been switching most of the bulbs in my house over to these except a few rooms (kitchen, laundry) that I like to have at 3500 kelvins. They do trade off some brightness for color rendering quality but they are still way more than bright enough to light up even the larger rooms in my house.

NO MORE EYE STRAIN AND HEADACHES ... COOL TO TOUCH WHEN ON
GE REVEAL 60w {substitute} LED {claims to run on} 9w @ 650 lumen.... These GE LED HD REVEAL 60w 9w 650 lumen are bright and somehow "do not cause me eye strain". "I can read without headaches again." I have 52 year old eyes with astigmatism in both eyes. The actual power of a claimed 9 watts used, I cannot confirm. These LED lights "do burn cooler to the touch" than the incandescent or florescent screw in bulbs which I just replaced.... That might reduce the Air Conditioner load slightly. This is my new favorite light bulb. I will be using them in every room. IF you are getting bulbs with an intent to heat an animal cage, pump house, or other area... be aware that these are NOT a hot burn bulb. The heat produced by these is very minimal. Maybe the low heat output is how they keep the power usage low.

Perfect
To all the folks who see pink and magenta... Notice how GE calls these light bulbs "HD". I think that's a very apt name. Like your HD audio player and headphones suddenly make your MP3 files sound like garbage, and your HD video player suddenly discovers grain in your DVD movies, these bulbs will bring out every color (and every color compromise, too) embedded in your surroundings. So don't get surprised to see yellowish or reddish plastic, pinkish wall or ceiling finish, and grayish blueish glass on many modern lamp shades. In a way, you have to come to grips with reality. Thankfully, our eyes adjust and the initial surprise goes away. Just like they adjust to the natural light outdoors, which in reality is intensely blue (on a clear day) or yellowish (on an overcast day). In practice, these bulbs produce powerful, but soft light that evokes a calm and clear September afternoon. Very nice, clean, and ambient. The original, incandescent GE Reveal bulbs (of which I've been a fan for many years) look duller and slightly greenish. If you are actually looking for "yellower" or "more neutral" light, try the other new lines from GE. Just figure out what it is that you really want, vs. what"an average idea of an average daylight" should in theory be. For what they are, I think the GE LED Reveal HD bulbs are a marvel. Provided, of course, that you purchase the real ones. I've got mine from Amazon itself, as the actual seller.

still an orange light
I bought this because of the packaging; "brightest whites" and brilliant colors" and the blue labels. I bought some store brand dimmable LED bulbs and my wife did not like the "orange-ish" color. She like s the bright white almost blue colored bulbs, hence why I bought these. but alas these bulbs are still orange. But they work very well inside my enclosed fixtures and the dimming feature is very nice. I will search for the color bulbs we want but these will still get used in other fixtures.

Great lightbulbs, work as advertised.
These are advertised to feel like natural light and bring out the natural colors. Used them in my kitchen with maple wood cabinets and they look great, along with all the other surfaces. Only problem is now I can tell that my microwave doesn't match my stove.

Like the old Reveal!
I'm so pleased with these bulbs! I loved the old incandescent Reveal bulbs and had given up looking for a replacement. The fluorescent and halogen Reveals were disappointing, and no other brand comes close. But THESE bulbs are it! I see some negative reviews, but I think those reviewers have the wrong expectation. These are not cool white bulbs and they are also not warm yellow bulbs. They're warm with a rosy rather than a yellow tint. They're great in a living room at night because they don't have the clinical look of daylight bulbs, but they make everything look more alive and less dinghy. My only complaint is that they're a bit too directional and work better in overhead lights. They don't cast enough light down, which leaves a weird shaded area under table lamps and standing lamps.

Clarity! It's like wearing glasses for the first time...
I used to have regular "Run of the mill" incandescent light bulbs, but I was attracted to the idea of a more economic and clear white light. I got these at some point and the difference is night and day. They last much much longer than incandescent light bulbs and produce not only much brighter, but cleaner white light. Perfect for working but not so good for use before going to bed as the warmer (more yellowish) light won't keep you as awake as these do.

The Perfect Color
I know now why lighting is so important. I just built a custom kitchen and these lights have taken it to another level. Everything looks picture perfect. My kitchen is made up of white and grays, and where I could not keep certain colors on the warm side of the gray scale (the backsplash is marble, slightly on the cool gray side), these lights help bring all the colors closer together while improving clarity. I'm the morning sun, they add warmth, and look cooler in the evenings. Everything also stands out more clearly. I had brighter lights before but now everything looks clearer with less watts. Before you try Reveal, you may think it just marketing hype. There's not a big difference between the color rendition of GE Reveal and standard 3000K bulbs. You may not even feel there is a big difference between 3000K and 2700K. But GE clearly didn't just pick a round number or go with what everyone else is doing because it's "standard". They surely tested the range with people and picked the Goldielocks color on the rendition scale. I may never buy another standard color bulb again.

Good quality LED's, but has a pink tint.
Overall, this is one of the higher quality LED bulbs I've tried. I'll divide my comments into the quality of light and other notes. Color temperature & rendering: A lot of cheaper LED's I've tried have had issued where they had an off-white or pink colour, and casted awful green tints on everything, combined with terrible CRI performance (dull colours, usually combined with the green tint), which led me on a search to higher quality bulbs. This bulb has a 2850K colour temperature, which puts it between 2700k and 3000k (warm & soft white) bulbs. The colour rendering also appears much better then cheap LED's, giving vibrant colours. My biggest concern is that the GE bulb looks very pinkish, especially on white paper or light colours. Most soft/warm white bulbs are generally much closer to the yellow colour we expect from incandescent bulbs. I personally prefer the Philips LED's which have a more 'normal' colour output, but if you prefer the pinkish light, these might work. Personally, it reminds me of the older CFLs that had pink rather then yellow light. Flicker, buzzing & dimming: Compared to cheap LED bulbs, which usually flicker at 30 or 60 hz due to cheap rectifiers (AC-DC conversion) or heat management making them unusable, these have no noticeable flicker. Even filming with a 240 fps camera, they appear solid. This also means they work for filming videos under these lights, without the weird scan lines that appear due to the shutter speed matching with the flicker of the lights - just be vary of the pink hue these cast. These also seem to work fine in a dimmer, though they do have a buzzing sound when dimming with an LED dimmer - though this might be the dimmers fault as I've yet to find a bulb that doesn't (that isn't incandescent). Fortunately, there is no buzzing at full brightness, which is good to see, as I'm using these in a desk lamp where it would be noticeable. Performance: Using these in a desk lamp works fine. I previously swore by 5000k lights for desk lamps and 3500k for ambient lighting, which made text crisp, but these seem to be much easier on the eyes, especially late into the night. I have put pictures to compare the light output between a few bulbs - the camera doesn't pick up the pink hue but its still a baseline comparison. Conclusion: The good CRI, no buzzing, no flicker, and smooth dimming give it five stars in my book. I'm very tempted to take off a star due to the pink hue, but the colours still look good, so I won't. I with it had less pink tint, but I'll take it any day over the awful green tint from cheap bulbs.

Works perfectly and the light from these bulbs is amazing. No hum
Bought several of these for a pendant hanging light on a dimmer. Works perfectly and the light from these bulbs is amazing. No hum, no flicker. A lot of cheaper LED lights flicker at about 30hz to help manage heat dissipation but not these, looks as good as an incandescent bulb. Good dimming range too and they stay pretty cool to the touch. Excellent colour, CRI rating on these is pretty high. Because of the light filtering the bulb has the light is yellow with a hint of pink instead of the usually orange colour of a 2700~2850k bulb.

awesome super white bright light
I purchased these bulbs so I could make a light box to take photos of my art. These lights are amazing. The photos turned out great.

Beautiful light, but needed to repurchase
This is my fourth box of GE Reveals. The light that comes from this is really nice and unique. Originally I purchased 3 boxes of lights (6 lights total) and 2 of the lights stopped working in less than a year. I'm a sucker and bought more because I liked the lights so much. Maybe you won't be a sucker.

The perfect ambien light
I've been using Reveal for years for my art because it gave true colours. After using daylight bulbs (too harsh) and 'warm' bulbs (too yellow), I'm using Reveal throughout the house. They are the perfect light bulb for everwhere. Please note that Lowe's Reveal bulbs are $7 cheaper.
