elegant simplicity
This is the best popcorn popper I have ever owned, and I have owned just about all of them over the years. Most poppers are over-designed: as the British say, “too clever by half”. This one has elegant simplicity, which is actually hard to achieve. There are no gears to fail, no hinges to gum up, etc. The compact dimensions and handles make it easy to store. The stirring rod is easy to use. The simplicity makes it easy to keep clean. Although you actually judge when popping is done by the sound, I like the glass lid. I get a little kick out of watching them pop. I have seen reviews that criticize the lid because of condensation falling into the popcorn. I find if you lift the lid straight up rather than tipping it almost all of the condensation stays on the lid. They make a unique selling point of the way the popper is designed so that you don’t need to measure. They give tips and trouble-shooting on how to eyeball the amount of oil and corn without measuring. I actually like measuring, and the dependable results you get when you measure. 1/8 cup oil, 1/2 cup popcorn, 1/2 teaspoon salt. Their directions call for putting the corn in with the oil and heating them together. I prefer pre-heating the oil by adding a few kernels to the oil, waiting for them to pop, and then adding the rest of the popcorn. I find there are fewer un-popped kernels that way. I like to tip the hot popcorn into an oversized bowl, salt it, and stir it. The stirring not only mixes the salt evenly, it also causes most of the un-popped kernels to fall to the bottom. I then scoop it out into a smaller bowl, carefully leaving the un-popped kernels in the bottom of the big bowl to be discarded. This is much easier on the teeth.

Best Popcorn Pan!
This popcorn pan is amazing. We used to make popcorn once every few months as a treat. And then we bought this popcorn popper. The popcorn turns out so tasty in this pan that we now make a batch of popcorn almost every week! Pro: We rarely have any kernels left un-popped. I love the fact that I can put it in the dishwasher when I so choose (although I usually wash it by hand). For what it's worth, we use the Amish Country brand popcorn. Con: The directions say to turn the stove up the highest possible heat when using this pan. Wrong! The highest heat on my stove burned the popcorn badly (and it took a long time to get all the burnt corn off the bottom of the pan). It took a bit of experimenting, but I found the setting to make perfect corn. I'm sure all cooktops different; and highest possible setting is probably right for most stoves; just not mine. I highly recommend this pan!

Almost perfect popper, but makes perfect popcorn!
Almost perfect popper! Exactly the style of stove top popcorn popper I’ve been looking for. My only design complaint is the air vent at top, once in awhile the hot oil in the popper flies thru or the hot air vents out so you have to be a little careful, nothing drastic but enough for you to be mindful, just wear oven gloves while manually stirring the popcorn. However this popper makes perfect popcorn! Use 3-4 tablespoons of butter flavored coconut oil and a teaspoon of Flavocol and it’s perfect!

GLASS SHATTERED AFTER 2 USES
The pot is beautiful, great popcorn, I received it 2 days ago, made popcorn 2 times, while the lid was cooling down in the sink, it shattered for some reason. Nobody was in the kitchen at the time, and it was hours after it cooled down, so no explanation and thankfully no one was hurt, just messy clean up. I contacted the seller, just waiting for response. Until something changes, with the lid, I would not recommend. Someone could get seriously hurt. Other than the lid, it’s a beautiful pot. -~UPDATE…~-was contacted by the Lehman customer service and we talked about the lid shattering as there are a few of us who had this happen. She offered to send another that she would personally check out before shipping and will keep in touch with me to make sure of the safety. Excellent customer service as I was disappointed with the shattered lid. Have not received the new popper but will update when I do.

Wonderful Popcorn Popper!
I ordered this to replace my aging WhirlyPop popper. The design of this popper is superior to the WhirlyPop in my opinion. The WhirlyPop has no handles on the base, so you have to hold the top lid closed with one hand as you pour the popped corn into the bowl holding the handle on the lid, and the lid always flops open sending popped kernels everywhere. With the Lehman's popper, you simply remove the glass lid and use the two handles on the base to easily pour out the popped corn. The popcorn pops quickly, and as the directions indicate, no measuring is necessary. I do have a couple of minor issues with the Lehman popper. As some of the others have noted, the screw and nut holding the center stirring wand continually comes loose and you have to tighten it every time you use the popper. Also, the rod that stirs the corn does not touch the bottom even though the directions indicate that it does. It sits about 1/4 inch above the base. Others have said their poppers have a rod that touches, but there may have been some recent design or production changes. I contacted customer support who said the stirring wand on the popper they had there did not touch, and I even tried a replacement. The replacement rod came closer to the bottom but still did not thoroughly stir the unpopped corn. However, it's easy enough to just shake the popper to coat the oil on the kernels before you start, and once the kernels start popping, the stirrer works just fine. All in all, despite a few design shortcomings, I am pleased with the popper.

Amazon is the only place that will ship this to the UK, so I had to order it form here. However I was sent a defective, used popcorn maker, which is a bit rude for £68. Instead of the round, presumably stainless steel nuts pictured that hold the handle in place, mine just had standard hex nuts, which would no doubt rust if you washed them, and may not be food safe. You could see that the pan had been used, as there were scratches on the bottom of it, and it also had a dent on its base. So now I have to send it back across the Atlantic and order a new one, so a total waste of CO2 as well. Couldn't I just have been sent a new one in the first place, as expected/ordered?!

This pot is not good on induction stoves - way too light and burns badly!
