A few details I want to clarify
I’m using this on a 55 gallon drum and it works great. It pumps a greater volume per stroke than the Chinese knock-offs.The tube is telescoping, and most definitely reaches the bottom of the barrel. As it is in the box, it will be a little stiff and difficult to pull that tube down (dry o-ring), but it will extend.Check all the pivot bolts for the handle. They are all 1/4” hex size.I used Teflon tape on the pipe thread of the telescoping tube, so as to prevent air from being sucked into it and either killing its efficiency or making it lose prime. Also inspect it for manufacturing debris inside tubing. Very minimal if there is.Would buy again, and probably will.

Works perfectly.
I have 7, 55 gallon drums of different products in my small shop. This pump works very well with oil based products. The swivel valve at the end really helps to keep the top of the drum clean. I don't use it for products like windshield washer fluid. Plastic pumps work better for that.

fluid pump
a pump like this is the standard for oil and antifreeze ,Its not ideal for potable water .

Do not use thread sealant tape
This pump is made out of cheap metal do not use thread tape on spigot, I used just a couple of raps around threads and while tightening spigot the housing split, junk , past 30 day return so now I have a useless pump

As good as it gets.
Overall works great, minimal leaking, just small drips at the tip after usage. Had to use pipe tape to make the end sit in a good position and be tight, this is why I gave it four stars. Have two and they have held up well, being used for about 10 months now.Have uses a couple other pumps and this is by far the least messy.

Fabulous
Good pump and fit works perfect so much easier to empty drum gradually and no mess

Quickly rusts and contaminates the product you’re pumping
I used this at our car wash to pump tire shine out of a 55 gallon drum and into the canisters of the spray guns. Product worked great for about 1 year and then began to leak badly from the top part and the pipe that goes from the pump down into the tube began to rust badly and started forming what looked barnacles all over the tube as well and began to contaminate the tire shine in the drum and made it turn from a green color it normally is to a brown and then naturally the tire shine that went into the guns was contaminated with rust particles and began clogging the spray guns because of it. I would not suggest this product at all if you plan to leave the pump in the barrel at all times 24/7/365 like we did. You will end up having expensive chemicals become contaminated with rust.
