Great accurate DIY friendly gauge for HVAC install.
I needed a micron gauge for a DIY heatpump install. Usually I go super cheap on tools I'll really only need once but I wanted to be sure that the reading was accurate as a leak is pretty expensive problem with today's refrigerants. This is a nice high quality gauge from an established company with a calibration certificate. I've seen a fair number of these being used in videos from HVAC professionals. I found the gauge to function flawlessly. This was a great value for a gauge that is certified to be accurate. Unit is easy to use, and includes the needed 9v battery. One of the best features is that per the manual, this gauge can withstand the pressure of the refrigerant when releasing the system charge so you don't need to remove the gauge from your core tool prior to releasing the refrigerant. It also includes a small padded pouch for storage which was a nice touch.

Field Serviceable and Easy to use.
Field Serviceable and holds vacuum. I have already used this gauge with my valve core removal tool and vacuum pump. It works perfectly. This is the cheapest quality gauge you can find. Stay away from the super cheap ones and you won't waste your time.

Good product. Good quality. Easy to.
Nice tool. Works well, simple and easy.

Simple and effective
The auto-off is a bit annoying, but understandable for a battery powered tool. Definitely use something like a core removal tool to hook this up as it leaves the valve open too long when unscrewing if hooked up directly.

Great gauge, JUNK LEAKING TEE!
Gauge seems to be accurate, included tee is JUNK! Gauge went to 3 microns…. Gauge with the included tee won’t go below 500 on a 9cfm pump. Tried a different seal in it with zero change. The solder / braze job on it is leaking. Not happy about that!

Great device.
I am not an AC Tech by any means, however I have done my research and feel that this review will give someone some good info. When I first attached this device I could not pump down under 900 mic on any line set. I questioned the device at first, but then started looking for leaks, and as I read and read that if you cannot get below 500 mic then you have a leak somewhere. I started looking, first at the pump, found a small leak as I have a pump that has 3 connection ports that are capped with plastic caps. Then I found that I had not tightened a coupler enough and then found a bad flare (of course these items were all on different line sets). As soon as I took care of these small items all three line sets that I installed pumped down to below 250 mic. I also learned to read what the device was doing while the pump was running. It would bounce back and forth between numbers 830/840/850/840/830 etc and would go no lower. This told me that something was wrong. All the while I was watching the pressure gauge and it was holding at 30 psi. This device worked perfectly and I would recommend it to anyone who is installing any sort of HVAC system. I think my only gripe is that it turns off after 10 minutes so you have to turn it back on over and over.

Necessary for accurate measurement.
This is a high quality, well made product. The sample speed is fast enough, but there is a delay between the actual pressure and the displayed pressure. It has multiple different units that it can display the value in. I bought it because I needed a micron display. Included accessories are a hanging bracket, a pouch for storage and a "T" adapter. To power it up, you need to install a nine volt battery.

Horrible Horrible Horrible.
I have purchased this gauge and a 1.9 vacuum pump, and the work, quality of both items impress me. I am a tool fanatic when it comes to "instruments" and this is not a tool, but should more appropriately called an instrument. It is made in the USA and I intend to buy future items from CPS products first." September 16, 2018: I am taking back my earlier review. The vacuum gauge has been isolated and I duplicated the experiment with 2 separate vacuum pumps, and it is not able to hold the micron reading. It slowly creeps up. I used denatured alcohol per the manufacturer's instructions (did that several times) and let it dry overnight and the problem still persists. Please note that I used this gauge on a recovery cylinder twice and on my vehicle twice, and I suspect that the sensor is going wild. I do not think it is a leak. I think the sensor is just not stable. I am going to look at another product almost more than double the price on Amazon and compare the results. CPS Products needs to admit that it is has a problem with this product and stop selling it. With so many unhappy customers, you would think CPS would get it. It was time consuming and the most frustrating experience. If you relied on my earlier review to buy this product, I am sorry!

Not a fan of the 9v battery. wish it was double AA or Triple AAA at least. ideally a USB C charger with inbuilt battery would be best s you dont need to purchase batterys all the time, just keep it charged every few nights is easy and free. It seems to work well. shut off pump at 200 microns and it rises then equalises around 400 usually pretty good. for some reason i dont trust it not sure what it is but i just feel like it cant beleive what its reading. idk maybe thats just me feeling. cant put my finger on it yet. dont get me wrong this thing works its just that like any of these micron gauges their so expensive, theres no realiable way to calibrate them or compare with others because they cost an arm and a leg, and truly know if its reading the correct measurement. I just wish there was a way to test them and be able to prove that they are working correctly. i just dont like micron gauges in generall every the really expensive ones seem so edgy like a slight breeze and they suddenly read wrong or stop working. this is the 3rd one ive bought. 1st was the feidpeice cost about $500, then the blue vac mini $500 too, and that was my favourite but my set up was dodgy so changed that to all new hoses and shii and got this cps then it worked well. sill need to test this along side my bluevac but if they have different readings im scared i wont know which one to trust and loose faith in them all.
