Good product, good price.

L-Leucine arrived on time and in tact. No odor or smell upon opening the bag. The product does not have a flavor. I’ve been adding it and creatine (also from Bulk Supp) to my Hydration drink. It does not dissolve fully, but not an issue for me. I just shake well before taking each sip. I may try it in my iced coffee. I’ve only been drinking it for 2 days, but will report back with results. No gas, no stomach upset. Updated (1 Week): Still no side effects or gastrointestinal issues. Progressive load and endurance in gym is much improved. Increased muscle pump (glutes/hams/quads). Since this product Does not fully dissolve in cold, warm or hot liquids I would suggest adding to a smaller quantity of fluid, and drinking all at once. I currently had been mixing w/hydration or Xtend EAA and sipping throughout the day, but by the end of day, product is at the bottom of vessel. I added to my hot coffee, product did not dissolve, floated to top, but also added a ‘peanut like’ flavor to coffee. Going forward I am only going to mix with 4oz Hydration fluid and drink at once. I’ll still leave 5 stars because supplements just simply have nuances and we just have to figure out what route & dose is best for us.

BCAA's (Branch Chain Amino Acids) have been show to be critical to anyone trying to build muscle. Research has provided evidence that "fasted" training (working out after not eating for 6-8 hours) is a great way to burn fat. Unfortunately, you can also end up burning muscle in the process. Many already know that an extra dose of BCAA's post-workout help build muscle. Fortunately, recent studies have shown that BCAA's taken before your fasted workout will help maintain muscle. And more specifically, L-Leucine (one of the three main BCAA's) in doses of 3g -5g. If you go with BCAA's you need to take about 10g to get the 3-5g of L-Leucine. Or, you can just take 3-5g of pure L-Leucine - which is a lot more economical. So I take about 4g of this stuff before my morning workout and throw another 3g in my post workout protein shake (most whey powders have L-Leucine already, but typically only a couple grams). Now, one warning if you are going to follow in my footsteps...this stuff tastes pretty bad. I first tried just to mix it in water and choke it down. It does disperse in water ok (doesn't clump), but it tastes horrible. I've now gone with a low calorie lemonade mix instead of water. The bad taste still comes through but it is much more tolerable. I don't blame the company for this, as I assume this is just an unavoidable characteristic of this particular supplement. However, BulkSupplements, if you are reading this...anything you can do to make this stuff taste better would make this a knockout product at a great price.

I bought the powder because I tend to mix/add extra amino acids into my drinks and wanted to include some additional Leucine Powder. It is pure and clean, just like advertised, no fillers or flavors. If you are not use to using an unflavored powder, it tends to have a bitter flavor and you need to mix it with something; flavor packs, other drink mixes,... I add mine into a pre/intra protein shake or a first thing in the morning shake. Pro: Product is a very fine powder, I have had no problems mixing it with my current drinks and it does not effect the flavor of them. Packaging is a heavy duty zippie type bag, takes up little room on the shelf, however on occasion I have issues getting it to seal shut but not that often. Price is very reasonable for the quantity purchased. Con: no scooper - this can be an issue for some but I just placed a left over one from another product in the bag, no problem. So far a good product, I am very satisfied with and plan on making future purchases.

This is a high quality supplement and serves its purpose well. It can be added to whatever you want, but is not completely soluble. I would not recommend trying with just water, the after taste can kill. When I tried this the first time, I had it with just water. Big mistake, 15 minutes later after drinking a liter of water and brushing my teeth for a couple minutes I still couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. If you are using the leucine for fasted training I would recommend doing some research on zero calorie drinks that you think might improve the taste. I personally have been using vitamin water zero, solely because they didn't have anything better at whole foods. It masks the taste pretty well and uses stevia and not artificial sweeteners. I also recommend using ice to cool the drink down and make it taste better. I'll leave the research up to you because it depends on personal preference, but it is necessary to take this with something. All comments on taste aside, this supplement serves it's purpose and is a quality addition to any fasted training regimen.

I have now subscribed to ConsumerLab.com to get unbiased reviews. Bulk Supplements generally has well over 50% of its stated potency and the initially quality of its supplements is very high. I say "initial quality" as the "zip-lock" like bags it sells its products in very quickly deteriorate and often come apart at the seams. I've boughts literally hundreds of their products, all of which I have been INITIALLY satisfied with. I will not likely purchase this brand going forward because the packaging nearly ALWAYS FAILS over time. Its failure to close properly means that the products suffer from oxidative damage due to poor or NO CLOSURE. I suggest that they completely redo their packaging. It is wonderful if it were single use, but totally unacceptable for any multiple use "bulk" powders. 3 FAILURE MODES: WON'T CLOSE, CLOGGED ZIP CHANNEL This often happens on the first time a package is opened. It is inevitable as the powder falls in the "crack" of the zip channel and prevents closure. WON'T OPEN, CLOGGED ZIP CHANNEL Air moisture causes many of the powders to become very sticky. A tiny amount of the powder gets in the zip channel every time the package is opened and an amount is removed. After that the package is hard to open and then often the final failure mode below, occurs. WON'T CLOSE BOTH ZIP CHANNEL PARTS STUCK TO ONE EDGE OF PACKAGE OPENING After this closure is only possible with a customer supplied clip or rubber band. Very convenient - for Bulk Supplements. ACKWARD Flexible plastic bags are ackward to hold and dispense the correct amount with a scoop or spoon. A screw-top jar, such as other companies provide is highly recommended.

Very fine powder.

This product is falsely advertised unflavored. It actually has horrible flavor that is bitter and sour and unable to mix with anything in order to mix so the flavor can be masked. But the product is total fail as far as flavor. I contacted customer service for bulk supplements. Sadly is also was a fail, because they only give partial refunds even though the product quality is there issue. And they will not cover shipping costs. I copy and pasted out dialogue hoping they change their policy for returns and take more responsibility for their business. The issue is a quality issue pertaining to your L-leucine powder that is described as unflavored. It def has repulsive bitter to sour flavor. It cannot mix anything to help mask as it is hard to swallow. I would like refund or be sent a new product to replace it. It's pure and clean 100 percent No added flavours colours preservatives. That's a good bit. It doesn't dissolve properly in water and I found that the water taste slightly putrid. However, I'm glad it doesn't have flavours to enhance that taste. I add a teaspoon to a strong cup of coffee. Add the hot water and stir for 30 seconds and it does dissolve. It doesn't really dissolve very well in hot water, but it does dissolve if you stir and press the little floaties up against the edge of the cup and I add a quarter of a teaspoon of honey cuz I normally have coffee with no sugar. I don't eat sugar but I have some honey so I'll put a quarter of a teaspoon of honey in with my coffee and Mickey mouse. Get all the benefits of of this protein. 100% pure five stars
