Has anyone tried writing the date on these with ball point pen? Would ball point pen work and wash off later?

I regularly used a sharpie and it'll wash off with hand soap or dish soap. However if it goes through the dishwasher it'll be stuck there for a bit. Eventually it'll wear off. My little one is two now and these have gone from bottles to sippy cups & hold their shape amazing. Can no longer see any dates from the sharpies from when on bottles.

What's the circumference of the band not stretched and stretched as much as possible (without damaging it)?

I am not sure what the circumference is. But you can stretch it over a water bottle. It’s not too stretchy but once put in on, it’s not moving. I have it on a wider container then a water bottle.
