Cica-Care Silicone Gel Adhesive Sheet (5" x 6")

These were recommended by my dermatologist to minimize scarring after stitches were removed. It was a deep incision with stitches outside and inside. Since they were in a place on my back along my spine, it was hard to reach and they are hard to put on cause they do curl up onto themselves. But I was able to get it on and it did two things: 1. held the area together so I felt less pulling 2. Kept swelling and lumpiness on the actual scar to a minimum I wish I could’ve used them longer but because it was hard for me to reach the area that was scarred I stopped using them after two weeks. I think you can go as long as a month but even with just the two weeks it was very helpful. The soothing it does to the area alone was well worth it as well as that sensation that its holding the area together. My incision was right along the spine so there wasn’t any way I could move where I didn’t feel stress on the area. These really helped. The stickiness does fade after a week, even when you follow the instructions to keep it sticky. So you’ll probably need to order more than one. So the Cons are: doesn’t stay sticky as long as needed for full treatment, and can be hard to apply depending on where your incision is. The pros are: very soothing, supports the area around the scar without pulling or stiffness and does visibly seem to reduce puffiness with the final result of less visible scarring. However, in my case it did not reduce redness. I still have a colour difference between where the procedure was and the original skin around the area. However I only used it for two weeks. So if I went longer that might’ve also cleared. Anyway yeah if you’re dealing with an incision scar of any kind these are really helpful.

After using both this and Scar Away, I can confidently say CICA-CARE is superior for my needs. Here's a quick comparison: What I Love (CICA-CARE): Thick & Secure: Feels much more protective than the thin Scar Away sheets. Stays Put: On my thigh scar, it doesn't peel or lift at all. A huge improvement. Easy to Clean & Re-use: This is the biggest win. It washes easily and stays sticky, making it very economical. Scar Away fails completely in this area. Great for Daytime Face Use: Stays on my oily face during the day without issue. The Minor Downside: Nighttime Face Use: It did tend to peel off my face while I was sleeping. Interestingly, the thinner Scar Away sheet stayed on better overnight on my face, but would slip off during the day.

It's great for treating wounds. I need an auxiliary tape because it has low adhesion.

Stuff is amazing, used/using it for a pretty gnarly scar on the palm of my hand after a nerve repair and this stuff has been a lifesaver. It lasts so long, I'm only on my second little piece, and there's probably 90% of it left after 1.5 months of near-24-hour use. Since it's washable (yes, you can wash the sticky side with non-oily soap and it stays just as sticky!) you can just use it again and again. I actually really like it after using it a bit, it softens up even more. And massage is an important part of my scar care as well, and I can sort of rub it even with the scar gel on top, it doesn't deteriorate or anything. It's really promoted healing and keeps it nice and moisturized, and when I take it off I can tell within minutes the difference. It gets dry and more stiff and more ugly...just crazy. I'm keeping this baby on until it gets all the time it needs to do its thing! So far so good, I would definitely recommend this particular product. Oh, and btw I'm an RN and have also tried Mepitac silicone tape for scar treatment, and while that's way better than nothing, this is by far the best.

The gel patch doesn’t stick well over hair on my arm, a loose gauze wrap held it in place.

Made my scar worse. I followed the directions and thank God I only had it on for 4 hours and nothing more because it penetrated my skin and left me with red skin burn marks. Pushed my recovery back. Be careful when using this product.

Product is same as what I received from surgeons office. Easy to use.

It is a bit more expensive than other brands, but the quality and results are much better. It sticks well and actually works. You get what you pay for!
