How is this comforter during the cold winters months? Does it keep you warm?

I haven't used it in the winter yet. I found that It starts out cool and sometime in the middle of the night, it has trapped my body heat and I am too hot. I have reverted back to my light weight cotton blanket. I think polyester doesn't breathe.
