Viaje a Madrid: Bilingual Spanish novel for Beginners with English translation (Los viajes de Marta)

This book is so helpful! I’ve been learning Spanish on my own for about 5 months. I have some workbooks and two apps. I wanted another learning tool, but most books were simply too advanced. This book is written entirely in the present tense! That’s so creative. I’m only part-way through, but the story is fun and it’s a boost of confidence to see how much I can understand. I needed that boost and recommend this for year one learners or anyone who wants a refresh of their Spanish.

Excellent for beginner like me, although with a little research, I realize that the translations are always exact but very close. I think it’s a fun and great way to help a beginner learn Spanish

Well written and easy to understand since it’s written in the present tense. The story, the question and answer and then finally the translation works well.

This was the first book I have ever read in Spanish and it was fantastic! Each chapter starts with a vocabulary section and contains very simple and easy to read sentences for beginners. There are also comprehension questions to ensure that you understood what you read in Spanish after each chapter. I have only been learning Spanish for 9 months and I read this book in 2 days! It is fun to read and I was very excited to share the details of Marta’s life with my boyfriend after each chapter. This book really boosted my confidence with reading in Spanish and I have already recommended it to a few friends!

I’m working my way through all of the authors books. I’ve downloaded quite a few easy Spanish books and hers are by far the best. There is actually a fun/interesting plot. I found myself wanting to read to learn what happens with Marta’s relationships.
