Thanks.** A: The slot is about 3/8 inch wide. I put a CD jewel case in mine and it fits snugly. It easily holds regular and gatefold single-LP's, and it supports double-LP's. It is not recommended for long-term display as warping could become an issue, but it works perfectly as a "now playing" stand. It's a simple yet beautiful design, with a "less is more" aesthetic. The wood grain is interesting but random. (It is natural, after all.) The light wood can easily be painted or stained to suit your taste. It weighs in at under four ounces, and is compact.
