1/2" Heavy Duty Bolt-On Forged D Ring, 12000Lbs Break Strength Tie Down Anchors Hooks, for Trailers, Trucks, and Cargo Tie Downs (Pack of 4) Black

I purchased the Autobot 1/2" Heavy duty Bolt on Forged D Ring tie downs with some concern about the bolt lengths being able to fit thru the D-ring plate, the steel backing plate, and a 2X8 board. I had already resolved, from reading the reviews for this product, that I would need to purchase longer bolts to make this work for my trailer D-ring tie-downs! Boy, was I surprised! These are quality tie-downs! The D-ring itself is heavy duty and is one continuous piece! The plates that secure the D-ring are heavy duty! The bolts seems to be more than adequate in quality and length. Once I had drilled the holes in the 2X8 board, I inserted the bolts thru the D-ring plate, thru the 2X8 board, and thru the plate below with plenty of bolt left! Actually, I had to use a deep socket to finish tightening down the SAFETY NUTS (no lock washers needed as these safety locking nuts should not back off) on each bolt. There was probably 5/8" length of the bolt extending beyond the nut after the nuts were tight. So, these bolts are plenty long enough for securing the D-ring thru any 2X's. The D-ring is nicely painted black! The D-ring is one solid piece and heavy duty. I'm pretty sure the boards will give way before this D-ring/bolts do! I have not secured or carried a load as yet. My main purpose for these D-rings it to secure a UTV 4 seater. If I do have a problem with these D-rings holding my UTV while traveling, I will update this post. But, at this time, I am very satisfied and happy with these 4 Autobot D-rings! I paid approximately $31.50 for this product using a coupon offer (10% off).

I rarely write reviews. When I do, it is mostly if a product is terrible or extraordinary. I needed some D rings to tie down two motorcycles on my trailer. The bikes weigh about 500 pounds each. When I read the description for these D rings, I hoped that they were robust enough to do the job and were of good quality. They arrived today and I beyond pleased with their construction, strength and value given the price I paid for them. If you need some strong D rings, these are the ones you should strongly consider.

These are nice and heavy, and at a great price. I welded these onto my dump trailer to be used as permanent tie down point for my ATV and portable generators I use for work. They’re built very well, and are big enough to handle some serious weight but still get a gated ratchet strap hook to onto. I’ll be adding a few more just to have plenty of options for securing items very soon.

I'm pretty impressed with these D-rings. First, they come in a fitted box, so the parts aren't banging into each other. That shows some pride and care in their product. Everything is nicely powder coated. The bolts are a bit over 3" long, and were a perfect length for the main frame rails on my aluminum Triton trailer. The D-rings and their mounts also come with nice heavy-duty backing plates. The D-rings themselves are seamless, so they aren't going to pull apart on you. Installation is quick and easy. Note that, while the bolts look like 3/8" carriage bolts, they are actually 10mm, so a 3/8' drill is going to be a bit of a snug fit, plus you'll need a 14mm wrench on the all-steel locking nuts. I ended up drilling a couple of the holes to 7/16". I tightened the bolts down pretty snug, and they didn't break then or when hauling a 2000 pound machine, so they are apparently OK.
