Great heater
The East Oak 50,000 BTU outdoor heater meets all of my needs. Assembly was so easy that my 9 year old daughter did most of it under my supervision and direction. Only attaching the top shield was an issue for her due to her height, but that was probably the easiest step for those not height challenged. The bronze hue looks really good for residential use on a patio or porch as the chrome hue has a more commercial/restaurant feel. The flat top propane cover also doubles as a side table for resting drinks if you wanted to put two Adirondack chairs on each side and watch a game on the outdoor widescreen. Provides comfortable heat at a 5-6 foot radius for temperatures above 30 degrees. Customer service was also amazing as they were quick to respond to an issue I had with the table top model and we’re able to help me quickly remedy the issue. However, have had no issues with this model.

EASY TO ASSEMBLE - HARD TO START - OVERALL LIKE IT
While many reviews said it was hard to assemble, I found it VERY easy. I did watch the videos on Amazon’s website, but overall the instructions were easy to follow if you lay out the pieces. NOTE: the parts list IS CORRECT in number of nuts and bolts BUT the very first assembly instructions says …”FOUR M5x8 bolts (GG) and FOUR M5 nuts (II).” But then the photo shows ONE of each. There is ONLY 1 of each included in the parts bag AND only ONE needed to assemble. The written instructions are wrong in number for these two pieces. The HARD part is getting it to start with a new tank, especially if you try and light it in daytime because you can’t really see the pilot light work and a NEW tank seems to take forever to bleed into the line. Once it lit, it burned nicely and threw some heat. I don’t know if the actual spread of heat will be what it claims as about 3 ft around. That will be determined with use and on colder day than when I lit it. I did notice that on the first lighting it literally burns the emitter to a darker color. The flame seemed appropriate. I didn’t realize the heater won’t work as well when temps fall below 40 degrees, so that is not what I was expecting when I want to use this on chilly camping days, but this will be determined better on further use. Overall, I like it and hope it takes the chill off tabletop sitting by the campsite. I really like the magnetic cover plate to open and put in a propane tank. That stops you from having to turn over the heater and put it in from the bottom, which other models I looked at did. Hopefully it meets my camping needs. Watch the top reflector. It definitely gets hot, but the pole and base seem to stay cool to touch.

I should have listened more closely to the negatives about this heater
On April 6 we ordered this table top heater and were excited when the package arrived. But before long, we were flummoxed. The weight that goes inside the circular disc that the heater rises from did not fit flush with its partner. We spent ages trying to get the holes to line up and the screws that come with it to connect these parts to the heater stem. No luck. Complained to East Bay. They very generously sent out a new heater that we put together a little more easily, but still ran into glitches of certain holes not lining up and the material being cheap and not well put together. And the assembly instructions are a joke. But we finally completed assembling it and were eager to light the heater. Screwed in the 1lb propane tank. Followed all the instructions diligently and also watched whatever videos we could find of people lighting this model. For a couple of hours altogether we kept trying and still haven't succeeded. I tried to reach someone at East Oak who could give us some guidance. The chat option on their website turned out to be useless. There is no phone contact. I finally sent an email and got a response, asking for a screen shot of my purchase from Amazon and the model. And that was it. No answer back. The weekend is here and we'd looked forward to finally being able to sit outside in the early evening with the heater's help. Dream on! Even if it eventually does light up, I'm sure we'll run into more problems down the road because of the poor material. Good luck!Next day: I did receive an email from someone at East Oak who said he was sending a new burner assembly asap. He also wants me to send him a video of what happens when we try to light the unit so the company can figure out what is going wrong. Fingers crossed we will be able to light it once these changes have been made.

Wonderful!
This was a gift for my parents who live in Oregon and they loved it! It was the perfect size for their patio table and it really pumped out the heat. It was super easy to put together and easy to store since it’s not a full sized one so they can pull it out whenever they need to. Great purchase for the price in my opinion.
