Poor Performance
I purchased this vacuum based on the DeWalt name and installed it behind a cyclone so very little dust and dirt entered the vac. This vac had little use in the 13 months that I had it and stopped working during a sanding session. After cooling down it would run for 2 or 3 minutes before shutting down. Would not recommend purchasing a DeWalt Vacuum.

Geart Vacuum Hose is so cheap
The vacuum replaced my 20 yr old Porter Cable which is identical. The new model has upgraded wheels and suction selection. But they left a tragic flaw--the hose diameter and have added another flaw--the cheapest hose in the world. The hose diameter is still not standard 1 1/4"--slightly larger. In the past I could shake any obstruction out the hose. With the new hose--which is just plastic--not wire reinforced---I had to cut thru the hose to get the small chunk of wood out. If you want to attach 1 1/4" tools, just use a 1 1/4 " flexible plumbing connector attached to a standard piece of 1 1/4 " vacuum pipe.

Dewalt Dust Extractor/Vacuum
The Dewalt Dust Extractor Vacuum is quieter than regular wet dry vacuums and allows the user to have an atenualted plug on board for small tools. It works well and has a decent capacity bag. My only complaint is during the purchase of the unit you should be asked about ordering extra bags, one is just not enough and three will at least get you started for a good size job. Nice unit!

Super workshop Vac
Bought this for the workshop, works great. Suction power is excellent and it's got a great build quality (obviously built to last, as most Dewalt stuff is). Assembly takes a couple minutes out of the box to put the wheels on etc (very easy). It has a long cord, but you don't get any standard vacuum fitting in the box (so don't expect any), however if you have a standard household vac, you can use those fittings on it to. The bag is also easy to change. Great vacuum for the price.

Great Wet-Vac
This is a solid well build piece of equipment. I have owned so many wet-vacs but this one so far seems to be the best built. The added feature of having the vac work with my powertools is one of the main reasons I purchased this one. The adjustable suction knob is another great feature. Dewalt really hits the mark at least 85% of the times with their tools and this one was well thought out.GT

It Works
i've used this in my shop and it works very well. The down side is the plug outlet (to plug in another tool)is far too limited. Hose and cord storage is also limited.the upside is that this thing really works. When attached to a DeWalt 5" random orbital sander there is no dust; none at all!My wife decided to "clean up" the hardwood floors in the kitchen. That turned into a sand 500 square feet of oak down to bare wood. Looks like she will spend 4 days doing it and the vac has been running about 10 hours a day with no problem. I'm impressed.

Gerat Vac
I really like the function that turns it on when you start up the tool you have plugged into it. I put a splitter on it so I can use it as a mini central vac. The only downside is they really have not made a good place to secure the cord and hose for travel. The power cord just kinda hangs on the back on a hook. The hose fits into these clips on top but the end just kinda flops around. I have not seen a vacuum that has perfected this yet. Also it comes with no accessories.Overall I would recommend this tool, and have plans to get another or buy the "Y" connector and another hose to have it run two tools:)

Stacks up against the best for half the price
This unit has many of the same features as much more expensive dust extractors like the Fein and Festool: Variable suction, tool triggered on/off, HEPA filter that's easy to change out, quiet operation. I couldn't be happier with it.
