Update: 2019 is just around the corner, and we just purchased these again for the coming year. I considered looking for something "more interesting" (I'm not even sure what I mean by that), but the clear cover makes them customizable. So I can change mine up, and my husband and I will both be happy knowing we have a notebook we know is great.These are great notebooks, and a great price for them. My husband and I both use one - see our Punisher vs Floral covers!I like a clear cover, I like spiral bound, I like to be able to fit it in my bag easily, and I like a decent weight paper. I am not a notebook fanatic, but I do use it daily and carry it with me everywhere. My husband keeps his in a backpack and bikes to work with it. I read a review for a similar notebook where someone complained that part of their cover ripped off at the spiral....and I can almost assure you that unless you're working to, this cover is NOT going to come off. It is strong and thick, without being so thick that it is cumbersome or unsightly.So it's only February, and obviously we bought these for 2018, but so far they still look pristine. Most pens don't bleed. Personally I can say Tul and Pilot Frixions work great. Staedlers were used in the picture I posted with some bleed through, but it was pretty heavy. Tombows do bleed a bit if you use three layers. I like to mix two colours, and it bleeds a bit. None of this is appalling, and it certainly won't keep my from buying them again.I really love this notebook, I'm looking forward to seeing if I can fit the whole year in it!

I have used two of these wire-bound notebooks already (in about 1.5 years) and just ordered more. It is simple and, dare I say, a bit elegant in the design. I was seeking for:1) wire-bound notebook that is smaller than letter size for ease of carrying2) durable covers that can protect from a bit of moisture (i.e. sweaty palms)3) paper with dots/lines that do not distract from the pages4) decent number of pages in the notebook so I don't have to replace too often5) reasonable thickness of the paper so my pen inks won't bleed throughThis fits all my check boxes. I read some reviews commenting on the ink bleeding through. I use Pilot G2 Premium Gel pen and it works great. The dots on the pages are just dark enough that I can use it as a guide when writing, or ignore it when I draw diagrams. The plastic translucent cover is perfect, much better than other cardboard cover type.The only suggestion I may have is perhaps a version of light pages with white dot, instead of off-white pages with grey dot. But that is only a suggestion as it may easy reading under sunlight.

This is a great little 2 notebook set, for a great price. I gave one of the notebooks to a friend and she loves it for the same reasons.The plastic cover is very sturdy, almost like one of those thin cutting boards. It's firm enough that I could write on my lap, which is how I almost always used it. The transparent cover means I could design a custom cover on the first page, for each volume, and looks quite handsome that way (not cheap). My friend created a beautiful design on hers.The spiral binding is about 5/8" in diameter. (I would love to have an option for 1" or 1.5", but haven't found one in this style anywhere.) The pages turn easily and the binding is solid.The dotted paper is a nice, pleasing light cream and the dots are printed light enough that they don't distract, but just dark enough to easily see them.The listing doesn't state it, but the notebooks also come with 2 back pockets, which were super useful. They also come with labels, which I didn't use. (See pic.)The elastic band is securely fastened with back grommets. And because of the pocket placement there was no issue with bumps when writing. I pulled the elastic on/off several times a day for a month and had no problems with wear.It turns out that I needed more space for my bullet journal (my layouts are 2-3 pages each) otherwise I would have bought more of these.Caveat: The paper is 100gsm weight, so if you're planning on using markers there will be some ghosting or bleed through.

I wanted a custom planner to get me through two years of grad school but upon seeing the pricing for something like that through Etsy I decided to make my own. For the price of these two notebooks plus $4 for markers from the dollar general and a few pens I had lying around I've been able to create my own custom planner for a fraction of the price and its as custom as I want it. The quality of these notebooks is great. The wire binding is large enough for a pen to fit inside but not so large it would get in the way in a backpack. The covers are good quality and thick, no warping. The dots on each page are in the same spot throughout the notebook which jives very well with my perfectionism. Pages rip out more cleanly than a book-style journal. Elastic closure feels quality and hasn't stretched on me with much use the past several weeks. Would buy again.
