Transplanting the old key blade into the new key was a bit fiddly but it worked. You don't punch out the little pin as some others have said, you replace the whole blade. Followed a guide on youtube, look for "How to rebuild a Peugeot / Citroen Key fob". I did have to omit the circular metal bushing when putting it back together as I could not get it to fit in my old key blade, but it didn't impact the function.
