Favorite composting bags by far!
I've been composting for about 5 years now and have switched bags quite a bit. I've tried BioBag, Frontier, Glad, Smart.. you name it I've probably tried it. Gotta say these bags are my favorite by far. They're thin, but also very strong and made with a quality material that wont break. Can't go wrong with that slick green color either. So if you've been searching for the perfect compost bag, you've found it!

Heaviest Duty Eco Bags around.
These are the best eco bags I've found. They are heavier than any others I've tried. I found that if I just rip at the connecting seam, they will tear, but with just a little care and everything is good.

Very brittle and tears very easily
When my prior town adopted mandatory composting, compost bin liners were nearly ubiquitous nearby so easy to source. When my current town adopted voluntary curbside, I went to look for liners and was excited to see a heavy-duty option, and bought a double-pack to use in our counter-top bin. These were incredibly disappointing. All along, the perforations were very poorly designed/cut so that they frequently tore while trying to separate a bag. To add insult to injury, it inevitably tore in the direction of the sealed bottom, not the open top of the next bag. They are also unusually difficult to open. After about a year, these started becoming brittle (presumably, they are starting to decompose). Frequently they rip 1/2 to 2/3 of the way down the side now. OTOH, I bought these and more conventional, thinner bags for the larger bin we put out at the curb. Those are still as flexible and durable as when they were purchased. The combination of easily ripped and brittle has made them pretty much unusable. To finish off these bags, we have taken to draping them over the sides of our bin so they provide some mess-protection, even though they no longer function as bags.Even if we had bought a single box, this would still have been a problem. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Thicker, but in no way stretchy.
I'm using these as small trash bags. My trash container is a TidyCats 27 lb container. Plastic shopping bags and other brands compost bags work well, but my other 3gal compost bags were a bit too thin and would get holes poked though too easily. These bags will not stretch to fit the container, and instead instantly rip halfway down. The first few I tore off of the role separated incorrectly at the perforation so there was a gaping hole at the bottom of the bag. The next few I tore very gingerly, but still, when I try to stretch them to fit the trash bit they simply rip.If you're using these strictly for compost, they do seem plenty thick and would work great for that though!

Rip super easily
These bags are OK if you are super careful with them. When separating two bags along the perforated line or when opening the bag up they rip super easily and badly, often making the bag unusable. This is also a problem if there is anything slightly sharp in the yard waste. They are thicker than the other kinds we have tried but we still need to double bag them since they rip so easily. This makes them being thicker pointless as far as a selling feature.

Wonderful - another compost bag that I like is gone...
Why does every compost bag that actually works and that I finally find then no longer get made?First it was UCan's compost bags - company went out of business. Now it is these things... AArrrggggghhhhh.Anyway - if these things get made again by this brand - they are pretty decent. And I say that as someone who only gets compost picked up once a week - and then only if sanitation feels like it... They last pretty well and sometimes I can use just one bag from bucket to curb. Other times I might have to use two - if things are particularly wet or it is very heavy - for assurances.Otherwise, i will miss this bag... Onward to search for another bag that lasts - soooo many do not....

Bags are fragile
I bought these bags because they said "heavy duty". They are thick but tear so easily it is very difficult to use them. I had to take the roll out of the dispensing box and very gently tear along the dotted line and even then some of them tore in the body of the bag when I tried to separate them. Very frustrating.

Nice bags. Tear a little easily though, but I still like them.
These bags are really nice. They tear a little easier than a plastic bag, so be careful. If the bag tears, I just put it inside a grocery bag to carry to the compost. (I use the bag inside a countertop recycle container.)
