Love it
This thing is awesome. I came from using a cheap round plastic dehydrator (you know the one) and there is no comparison. Pros: > HUGE capacity > Easy, intuitive controls allow you to dry exactly how you want > Not too loud > Very even drying > Good value for the money Cons: If there is a con, it's that the dehydrator is heavy and awkward to move around. That's to be expected, though. Overall, this is a great machine that I wish I would have bought years ago. I've used it to make jerky and meat sticks, dry pineapple, sweet potatoes and herbs. My tomato plants have been very productive this year, so I just finished a big batch of "sun dried" tomatoes.

Crispy beef snacks and more.
I can't express enough how much I love my COSORI Food Dehydrator for beef! As someone following a carnivore diet, finding the right tools to prepare and preserve my food is essential, and this dehydrator has exceeded all my expectations. First and foremost, the 16.2ft² drying space provided by the 10 stainless steel trays is absolutely fantastic. I can easily fit large batches of beef onto the trays, allowing me to dehydrate a significant amount of beef at once. This not only saves me time but also ensures I have more than enough beef to sustain me while I'm on the go. The 1000W power of this machine ensures quick and efficient drying, meaning I can have perfectly dehydrated beef in no time. Plus, the stainless steel trays are not only durable but also easy to clean, which is a huge plus for me. One of the best things about using this dehydrator for my carnivore diet is the guilt-free travel it allows me. I can pack my homemade dried beef knowing exactly what ingredients have gone into it, without any additives or preservatives. It's a convenient and healthy snack option that keeps me satisfied while I'm on the road. Furthermore, the COSORI Food Dehydrator is incredibly user-friendly, with simple controls and a clear digital display. Even as someone who is relatively new to dehydrating, I found it easy to operate and achieve perfect results every time. Overall, I highly recommend the COSORI Food Dehydrator for beef to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient way to prepare delicious crispy beef similar to Carnivore Crisps. It has become an essential tool in my kitchen, helping me stay on track with my carnivore diet while enjoying tasty and nutritious snacks wherever I go.

First impression isn't great...
Edit: Leaving the original review for integrity. Reached out to the company. They responded the following week, as I believe I initially reached out to them on a Friday. I sent them a short video of the issue, as seems to be common practice these days. About a week later, a replacement unit was on my porch. As I unboxed it, I became even more convinced that the first one was a return. There was more going on with the first one than I realized after seeing the difference in the second one. The replacement was well packaged, looks great and includes all of the documentation. Overall, I would say this has been an excellent experience. I do believe there was a mixup with the original unit. It happens. I could just as easily have the same experience at Best Buy. The company responded quickly and, in my opinion, appropriately. I'm currently ruining bacon. So far, I recommend this machine. It does appear to be a new model, though, so extra mesh pads and silicon mats for it don't seem to exist. I picked up some third-party and they're way too small. That's the only downside. As long as this one holds up, I'm very happy with the purchase. I'm glad I didn't go with the six rack. I recommend you don't. Once things are dehydrated, you really do lose a LOT of volume. Original Review: This thing came with no paperwork. There was no warranty information, no recipe book, no instructions. All of these things are available on the website, so no big deal I guess. However, when I opened the box, it seemed as though something had been dripped on the top of it. I've not yet attempted to clean it. Additionally, all of the trays were just loose inside the machine. I ran it through the obligatory first cycle and it seems to be working fine. I'll give it a more thorough look tomorrow, but I'm not convinced that this wasn't open-box or a return. I'll be putting it through its paces during the return period. If everything holds up, I'll update the rating. So far, I'm not super thrilled. EDIT 1: More convinced that this thing was a return. There appears to be a barely visible indentation in one of the top corners. That's not the concerning bit, however. The problem is that the racks (which all measure the same size) only fit in the top four slots. Lower than that they start falling out. They only go in one way, since they're wider than they are deep. I measured the interior width at the door, which appears to be accurate. As I'm looking at it from above, it appears that the sides are bowed out slightly. So the racks will not stay in place. Dropping to a one star, since 60% of the internal space is unusable. Will edit again after contacting the company.

Really nice dehydrator!
I had an old gander mt round 5 tray I used for a million years and it still works great bit wanted something bigger. Man this is way bigger and faster. Normally it would take me two rounds in the old dehydrator for 5 lbs of meat (sticks or jerky) and take about 6-8 hours each one. I just did 5 lbs of meat sticks in about 4 hours and the machine was only about 1/4 full. Don't get me wrong the dehydrator is big like I still haven't found a permanent spot for it yet big. But its worth it. Soo much easier.

Nice--after a glitch
i ordered this direct from Amazon, and when it arrived, the box was beat all to heck, and had what I can only describe as a white powder residue on the box. This box had been soaked by something and then was allowed to dry. After we peeled---yes peeled the outer shipping box off, the interior box had some residue on it, I opened the box and the dehydrator had a small dent in the top, close to the front edge. I think I can do with that, although it is a lot of money to spend and receive a product in such a poor shape. I set it on the counter, and open the door, which promptly falls off. Thank god I have good reflexes as I was able to catch it before it landed on the floor. Upon further inspection I see the top left corner of the machine exterior is broken, no pieces in box, but due to this damage, I have to hold the door whenever I open it. Not my ideal at all. I started my conversation with Cosori, complete with pictures and after a couple of quick checks on their end, I had a new machine arriving at my home. I believe it took about two weeks, but they made it right. The replacement one came in a perfect outer box and the interior box and the machine were pristine. I do not blame Cosori at all for this, as it was direct from Amazon. I am just glad they made it right without me having to jump through multiple layers of hoops. The dehydrator is a solid unit. The ten trays are made well, and the included fruit leather tray I use as a drip tray in the bottom of the unit. I use this mainly for fruits and veggies, but the occasional bag of mini marshmallows have found their way in too. I have not used it for jerky so I can not comment there. I feel this will serve me well and will recommend to anyone.

A Very Solid Dehydrator with Great Capacity
I got this for Christmas 2022 and love it. I would get this one again if I had to do it over. I originally had the large Excalibur but decided I didn't like all the plastic and the resulting flimsiness (damaged in shipping) so exchanged it for this one (the 10-tray) and like having the metal much better. Pros: 1) Very generous drying capacity, which comes in handy during harvest time. 2) Temperature control and range - I don't know that I will ever need down to the degree, but every 5 degrees is great, and I can do everything from delicate herbs to jerky if I want. 3) The air circulation system does seem to dehydrate better than the circular Oster model I was given just to see if I liked dehydrating. 4) The glass door is nice to keep a general eye on progress. Cons: 1) The trays are fairly close together, which may restrict airflow somewhat, so I start out loading every other tray but typically wind up using most or all of the trays. I also try to skip completely the top and bottom trays due to their proximity to the top and bottom of the interior. 2) It only came with one fruit roll sheet and one mesh tray - both hard plastic. The hard plastic fruit roll sheet is great to put under the lowest tray to catch drips and bits and pieces. I've never used the hard plastic mesh tray yet. I did order and love the flexible silicone mesh mats and fruit trays. The flexibility of these makes getting dehydrated foods off of them much easier, and they wash up fairly easily. 3) It certainly isn't cheap, especially after you add on the cost of buying the extra mesh and fruit roll sheets. I love this dehydrator, but it's a significant investment; I suggest if you are new to dehydrating, see if you can borrow or find a basic, small dehydrator to find out if dehydrating is useful and something you want to continue doing. I started out with a $40 Oster basic model without hardly any bells and whistles but was able to determine investing in a really nice dehydrator would be worthwhile for me. Things to consider generally: 1) This sucker takes up a LOT of room! It was way too big to fit on our kitchen countertop and under the upper cabinets with enough clearance for airflow, which is important. We wound up putting it on a large, sturdy stainless steel utility cart (and up on bricks to give clearance for the dehydrator door to open) I purchased years ago from Sam's Club for my office (I think it's still available). 2) It will put out some heat (welcome in the winter but not so much in the summer, lol, as we don't do air co) and doesn't run completely silent (but not bad). 3) Think about how much drying space you realistically need in a dehydrator. There's a 6-tray model that you should look at if you don't need quite as much. 4) You will probably need to condition whatever you dehydrate. It's a process, and you need to educate yourself on how to do this safely! 5) Think about other food preservation methods (e.g., water bath or pressure canning) and how long you need your food to stay good in storage and how you would use dehydrated foods 6) Join a FB dehydrating group or two for education, great tips, recipes, and community feeling. I have a favorite page that I rely heavily on. Happy dehydrating!

Dont bother go commercial grade
I have run several batches through this to make sure my findings were correct (using a professional meter and temp probe) and I have found what I consider to be 4 MAJOR issues with the unit. #1 the unit does not and has never reached 165 degrees at the probe which is critical to ensuring meat is properly processed. In fact I do not recall seeing anything in the units directions for use that instructs users to heat the meat prior to dehydrating as suggested by the USDA. So you may want to followup on this so you know you are preserving safely. #2 the unit does not maintain a constant temperature, in fact my units temperature drops by 15 degrees from set temp before heating back up. Example, when set at 140f the temp will go from 140 down to 125 and then back up to 140 and so on. Successful dehydrating requires air flow and a constant temp. #3 the display temp on my unit is off by at least 3 degrees of actual internal temp. #4 the door is poorly sealed which allows much of the internal heat to escape making the unit in my opinion inefficient and leads to longer dry times. Failing to achieve the desired temps and poor door sealing (understand some air flow is required) makes this unit in my opinion inefficient. If the return windows hadnt expired I would have sent this back however so as not to have wasted my money I will use a conventional oven to cook the meat to the proper temp as recommended by the USDA before transferring to the dehydrator to finish off the process. Results are not what I had expected and quite disappointed in this purchase but I will limp along for now and buy an actual commercial dehydrator after I do my homework.
