## Description

The author of the international bestseller 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don’t Do turns her focus to parents, teaching them how to raise mentally strong and resilient children. Do today’s children lack the flexibility and mental strength they need to cope with life’s challenges in an increasingly complicated and scary world? With safe spaces and trigger warnings designed to "protect" kids, many adults worry that children don’t have the resilience to reach their greatest potential. Amy Morin, the author who identified the characteristics that mentally strong people share, now gives adults—parents, teachers, and other mentors—the tools they need to become mental strength trainers. While other books tell parents what to do, Amy teaches parents what "not to do," which she says is equally important in raising mentally strong youngsters. As a foster parent, psychotherapist, and expert in family and teen therapy, Amy has witnessed first-hand what works. When children have the skills they need to deal with challenges in their everyday lives, they can flourish socially, emotionally, behaviorally, and academically. With appropriate support, encouragement, and guidance from adults, kids grow stronger and become better. Drawing on her experiences and insight, 13 Things Mentally Strong Parents Don’t Do combines case studies, practical tips, specific strategies, and concrete and proven exercises to help children of all ages—from preschoolers to teenagers—build mental muscle and develop into healthy, strong adults.

Review: Practical and Insightful Guide - A really practical and easy-to-read book that focuses on building healthier parenting habits and emotional resilience in children. The structure makes it simple to follow, with clear examples of behaviors to avoid and better approaches to use instead. It feels very applicable to real-life parenting situations rather than being overly theoretical. What stands out most is how it encourages consistency, emotional control, and long-term thinking in parenting decisions. While some points may feel familiar if you’ve read other parenting or self-help books, the reminders are still valuable and easy to apply. Overall, it’s a helpful, straightforward guide for parents looking to strengthen their approach and support their children’s emotional growth.
Review: Fabulously well written - Read this book and “13 things strong kids do” both a must read for adults and children who wants to make a difference and more mindful in their lives as parents and children

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic book! A must read for any parent.

I had the opportunity to get an advance copy of this book over summer and it turned out to be such a great read - as good as Amy's first book 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do. This book is a must read for any parent that wants to bring out the best in their kids. I read this book over summer and worked on the chapters with our 16 year old daughter. She got so involved in it that she read the book as well. While the book is meant for parents, I would recommend that teenagers read it as well. The book is full of real life case studies and very relevant examples. After reading the book through summer, I've noticed such an improvement with our daughter in just a few weeks. She spent over 100 hours volunteering through summer and the school year is going very well. The book provides plenty of tips and examples that can be easily applied. My daughter could easily relate to the examples provided in the book. The book also exposed some of my parenting limitations and help me become a better parent as well. I liked the book so much that I ordered extra copies to give friends and family - especially since there was a great pre-order special on the book.
