Review: Good looking relay units for the price. - I haven't had a chance to use them yet, however I examined one last night. They appear to be a very high quality unit. The pigtails on the plugs are 16 ga wire and they are sealed into the plug base. There's a nice silicon gasket that seals the plug into the relay bottom. It is also numbered as to what the terminals do. The wires are color coded, red for the power in, black for ground etc. I think they are yellow, blue, red, black and white. The relay itself has and sturdy mounting lug on the top of it as well. I think they are rated for 30 amps? The set comes with a schematic showing four different ways to wire them up. These are a five pin relay. The instructions say to leave the center terminal 87a disconnected. I've never used that one so I don't know what it does. You get five of these relays in a box and for the money I think it's a good buy. If the relay part of them stands up I'd recommend them.

**Q: Is this solid state?**
A: It has only an electromagnet (coil) which when activated pulls an armature which pulls contacts together, completing the circuit. Basically it is a switch. This is not transistorized

A: Based on the price I assume they are made in china. They are high quality. I run them on my race car and haven't had a problem.

**Q: Will this relay work on a mercury force outboard 40hp 1998?**
A: This is a universal 12v relay u will need to wire to it what ever you want to operate 
It's not a specific relay to you application
