What can I expect from my Do It Yourself Guitar Kit? You can expect a package containing a well machined body, with all the correct cavities for neck, pickups and controls, plus the proper pilot holes where needed. A neck which is also well machined and made of either a solid wood or solid wood with a fret-board. Frets and markers already installed and dressed, and the proper spaced holes for tuners again with the pilot holes pre-drilled. There will also be a pickup or a set of pickups, controls, set of strings, and a set of the correct hardware for the style of guitar you choose. The guitar has been finished with a poly resin sealer to protect the moisture content, and give you the first stage of finishing. Finally a detailed step by step instructions to guide you through the process of completing your Do It Yourself Guitar Kit. PLEASE NOTE: Spalted Maple Tops are all unique… consider them like a fingerprint… No two are the same… Design may vary from photo.

Superb fit and finish. Needs paint or lacquer finishing and assembly.
Superb kit. I used Seymour Duncan PRails instead of the humbuckers it came with, but the stock humbuckers are fabulous too. Kit arrived with presoldered volume and tone control harness. The neck fit and angle are perfect, as are the frets which are dressed and need slight fine polishing to be gig ready. Tuners, bridge and stopbar are very good too. I used nitrocellulose lacquer spray from StewMac to finish it after sanding off the poly grain fill. Wet sanded the nitro coatings with finer emery wet sandpaper and used buffing compounds from StewMac as well. My son and I did this as a summer project together and he loves playing it!

Great if you don't mind doing a bit of work.
Most of these kits are great if you know how or are not scared to do Fret work or tighten a neck pocket with shims.the poster complaining about it not taking stain probably did not remove all of the sealer by sanding the body properly. since these kits come presealed from the factory.this guitar can look, sound and play just as good as any guitar you buy in a store if you put in the extra work and buy better hardware.the best thing about a kit guitar is you can spend what you want and make it what you want so cost of kit 200$ or so and 20-30 hours of work gives you a very nice finish. me personally i also spent about 300$ on new wiring custom pickups a graph tech nut and some nice ratio locking tuners. it plays and stays in tune better than my production epiphone that I sold for 600.so to me yea if you can do the work and invest the time its a hell of a deal.

Not worth the price
1. The neck/body joint is loose.2. The neck fret positions is off.3. Glue residue on body (stain wont take in places)4. The "Spalted" maple top you get wont be anything like the pictures. Mine was all plain clear wood with two tiny little spalted figures about 2 square inches total (and the veneer is paper thin) I must admit the neck head veneer was nice.Don't believe some of the Utube videos, the reviewers must have been sent cherry picked kits.If it had a pretty top it would make good wall art.If you want a LP style guitar buy a used Epiphone. If you want to build a guitar, EB has the same Chinese kit for alot less. The seller has the title right "Solo LP Style DIY Guitar Kit, Mahogany Body, Splated Maple Top, LPK-75 "it is "splated" with deception, it's certainly not SPALTED.

Very Highly Recommended! Beautiful.
Excellent , beautiful, gorgeous.... I could go on and on..First was the pickup of package. The box had a handy handle built in!!!!...Impressed.Opened the box. packaged well and with care. Unwrapped the guitar and was amazed. Absolutely beautiful and the neck fit perfect.I have purchased previous build kits but this seller hit it out of the park, and quality of product is amazing. I don't even want to color or stain it.Highly recommend this kit to anyone .*** Update*** I ordered a second one. Excellent Quality. Both have a different pattern with the veneer top and head stock. You will order a one of a kind. Kit is amazing.

Really good project, if you know what your doing you will be really happy.
Very nice DIY kit, the body and neck are pretty good quality, some of the hardware is good as well, ( bridge, saddle, tuners). The pickups, pots, and switch, are pretty low end, but most people switch this stuff out, and the company knows this , so they supply them, so you can complete and make a working instrument with what they include in their package.I spent a month just working on the finish, and eventually got it the way I wanted it. That’s what this is about, a unique finish that you created. Otherwise just buy an old guitar that you like and put in new hardware.I switched out the pickups, nothing else, and it’s turned out to be my favourite guitar ever. It plays and sounds really good, I only had to intonate two strings.
