Odd Pieces Snack Attack – Mystery Jigsaw Puzzle 1000 Pieces for Adults – Story Puzzle with Magic Puzzle Art

I ordered Snack Attack because I was sure my 13yr old grandson would enjoy the mystery aspect of the puzzle. After receiving it, I had serious second thoughts. When doing puzzles together, I tend to rely on using a map. I realized this was not a puzzle I would enjoy AT ALL since the map and the finished puzzle are not the same. What was I thinking?! I tried to talk my grandson out of the challenge, but he was determined to give it a try. Oh. My. Goodness! Had I returned Snack Attack I would have missed out on the most enjoyable puzzle experience I've ever had. Yes, the finished puzzle & the map are different. But the artist cleverly created zones with subtle differences in color or texture of floors, walls, furniture, etc. Even within the large number of students, each kid is unique. I appreciate the racial diversity and humor the artist has weaved throughout. The colorful, detailed artwork is impressive. The puzzle itself is very high quality. Thick, sturdy pieces with no doubt about the correct placement of any piece. Looking back, I admit I'm a bit surprised that I spent that much money on a puzzle. No wonder I had second thoughts after purchase. But the price is not going to deter me from buying the next puzzle in the series. My grandson and I are both looking forward to continuing the Snack Attack series, and plan to tackle another Odd Pieces challenge after that. I highly recommend this delightfully different puzzle experience.

Very challenging and fun

Lots of fun for the whole family

I bought this Odd Pieces jigsaw puzzle as a family Christmas present. We started working on it on Christmas Day, and it turned into a really fun family event. The storytelling comics and unique pieces made it both entertaining and challenging. I worked on it for a few weeks and finally completed the full 1000-piece puzzle. After finishing, I glued it together and hung it on the wall—it looks great and serves as a nice decoration. Overall, this was a highly enjoyable and engaging puzzle. Perfect for families or anyone who enjoys a mix of fun and challenge.

We really liked the concept of this puzzle. It was a little rough to put together with the differences, but we appreciated the challenge and even had some "aha!" moments through it that were fun. The limited color palette was also a challenge, but it was generally a good experience despite that. However, it's missing 3 pieces out of the box. We're pretty meticulous about how we organize puzzles and where we keep them to make sure we don't lose pieces while we work on them over the week, and we didn't find these pieces at all. One of them was also an edge piece, and one had a character from the puzzle pretty much all out. That was really a bummer, which is why we dock it one star. The puzzle took about 10-15 man-hours for us to complete.

This was fun, once we realized that the illustration doesn't reflect the actual puzzle. It didn't bother my wife as she focuses more on color and shape, not the over all picture. But being a very visual person, it drove me a bit crazy! But it was still fun and it was cool to see the differences.

Following up: I finished the puzzle. This was a fun one that I’ve been curious about for a long time. The picture on the box gives you an idea of what is going on, but the picture you build happens 15 seconds later. There’s a small story that goes along with it. I figured out the twist almost immediately- it’s nothing really deep- but really enjoyed the details of the puzzle as I went along. Some characters say one thing in the box image and another in the puzzle, items have moved, etc. Even though I guessed what was happening, I didn’t see “the full picture” until I was very close to the end of the puzzle. Very fun! I usually don’t look at the box while I’m doing a puzzle, but this image didn’t have many broad swaths of uninterrupted color to make clear groupings by color. I broke down about 2/3 of the way though and looked at the poster included in the box, but as it wasn’t the exact image I was building I didn’t mind as much. I typically solve puzzles quickly; I’d say I took a solid 6-7 hours on this one. It’s also a particularly high quality product- nice, thick pieces that interlock beautifully and don’t bend and high quality box that won’t be misshapen by next week. There are lots of little details in the packaging that offer something of an “unboxing” experience. (One nice surprise was a complete lack of puzzle dust!) I had this puzzle on my list for a long time- it’s a little pricier than the puzzles I usually buy- but I particularly enjoyed it and will be buying others from the same line. (No spoilers here- the image I shared is the full version of the picture on the box.)

Way overpriced It’s a cute puzzle. Not much of a mystery, the mystery envelope is a pic of the finished puzzle. No clues, the comic is one page. It’s a good puzzle but for $45 I wanted more to it than just a puzzle. Really thought the envelope would be something exciting at the end. Just a $45 puzzle

Excellent quality puzzle. Came with 4 duplicate pieces this time which I haven't encountered before with this brand when ordering directly - I bought four from them. Puzzle is fun, challenging but not impossible, and is a great time.

This was a gift, I have tried their puzzles in previous occasions. They are fine. The image is a bit different from what you see in the box but really not much harder than a normal puzzle. I like the idea of finding out what happen in the proposed scenario.

Odd Pieces puzzles are both challenging and enjoyable - they include many subtle variations that transform the picture into something new. Unbelievably fun! Even my husband, who typically “hates” doing puzzles, joins in to solve these. Highly recommended!
