Lovely book
Love it. This is a precious book to read to kids, I have read it to both of my girls in different stages of their infancy. It has a lovely rhythm, illustrations and message. This story although at first it might not sound or flow like a children’s story, it is meant to be a poem, hence the rhythm. This book has a warm message of respect and love.

Very beautiful book
Wow, this is a truly beautiful book. The illustrations are incredible and keep my little 7 month old twin's attention. I can't wait for them to get older so they can understand the amazing lessons this book shows. This is going to be my new favorite book to gift to expecting parents!

Beautifully illustrated
This book is beautifully illustrated. I don't like the writing as much as I like to painting. The words don't flow as smoothly. But for a bedtime children's book, it'll do fine. While it's nice to have the larger pages, I wish I had gotten the board book version.

Wonderful
This is an absolutely beautiful story with beautiful pictures to match. The pictures captured the attention of my toddler and she loved talking about the animals. A lot of the concepts/qualities discussed are pretty abstract for a 3 year-old, but she loved learning the new words and talking about what they meant.

Nature, life and human potential, beautifully intertwined.
The graphic work is in this book is quite beautiful, creative and touching. What I found most attractive though, as an adult, and a parent of a preschooler was the mutual respect and admiration from nature to a human being and viceversa, plus a simple and nice way to introduce native Alaskan culture (Inuk). Without it being poetry, I found it quite poetic. There is a constant encouragement of the child to know all the great things she/he can be.A beautiful gift as well.

Books were damaged upon arrival.
This book is beautiful and we love it. Unfortunately we ordered 7 of them for our program and they were all warped and bent. We needed to distribute them to families so we did not return them but I was very disappointed in being sent damaged goods.

Heartwarming story
This story is incredibly sweet. We love the pictures of all the animals and as a parent, I don’t tire from reading it over and over. A family favorite.

Beautiful illustrations, makes a lovely gift
This is the most beautiful children's book I have ever seen. I received it as a gift for my son before he was born, and since then I have given it to several friends who have had babies. The illustrations are amazing and the accompanying text always makes me tear up. I would highly recommended this book to anyone.I noticed that one of the other reviewers commented that they "did not like the story", but it's important to note that this is not a story, it is more of a welcome prayer. It emphasizes our connection to the world around us. Another reviewer commented that this book was not written in english, however, I have ordered this book from amazon twice and both times received an english version.Arrived on time, well-packaged, and in excellent condition.

Accidentally bought the wrong language
The book is beautiful, but I am dyslexic and struggle with English. When I bought it, the cover showed the English copy, but when it arrived it was in a language I wish I could read… but couldn’t.We just look at the pictures, but it would have been nice to know I was getting the other language when I purchased it.

It's Not In English So I Can't Read the Book To My Daycare Children
The Book looks really lovely, and is in excellent condition, but I can't read this book. I didn't realize that this book wasn't in English, but was in Inuktitut. I bought these books for the daycare I work at; we are trying to finds books and other resources that better represent indigenous cultures in our country. I was planning to read all 4 of the books I bought to the children at my daycare centre. If anyone knows where I can get an English version of this book I would greatly appreciate you letting me know. I'll buy another copy of it and just keep this one as a souvenir. The children at my daycare centre are preschool ages 2-6 yrs. Thanks
