Nice chair, bad spring.
Nice chair. I've had it for a year, but the spring doesn't last. After a few months the spring stopped holding the position when it's above the minimum height. It slowly goes back down to the minimum height.

Would recommend
The chair itself is great for our office - we are using 10 in our conference room - very sturdy, attractive, comfortable, easy rolling, turning, arms are appropriately placed, and the seat seems a bit longer vs your average office chair, which means better fit for taller people. I was looking for a retro/simple/clean look, not executive, not cheap - Love the chair, would buy it again and recommend it to others. It's a well-priced option that looks great with other pieces.

What you see is NOT what you get.
I ordered two of these black Malibu Mid Back Office chairs for my design firm office. Immediately upon opening them I noticed that the "tilt shift" base mechanism was completely different then the photo on the website (which I based my purchasing decision on). One of the key selling points for me was the sleek chrome ball lever design.... but instead I was sent USED / scratched standard style ones with "UP OR DOWN" printed in bold white letters on a chunky black plastic lever. Also, to make matters worst, one of them was literally DIRTY (as in... mud. no joke.) I did NOT buy these "used", so why I received used chairs (or parts) is beyond me! Also, the casters I was sent are NOT the ones shown in the picture. Again, another important feature for me. The ones I received are grey & black - and look much cheaper than the ones in the photo.Customer service answered my email complaint IMMEDIATELY (the only reason for the 2 stars). Response I received: "I just found out our whole container with these chairs were shipped Wrong to us , you just brought this to my attention, because no one mentioned this detail to us. These chairs are all new, they are never unboxed, we can't sell used items as new here, otherwise my business here would be shut down. I can try to find new casters for you, But we just opened 15 boxes , of the chairs, and they are all the same as you have, I am very very sorry for this situation, how do you want to handle this situation? I am very very sorry, this never has happend, I am stuck with 700 pieces of these chairs I don't even know what to say. Very sorry."For what it's worth, the tilt-shift base pieces were so clearly not "NEW". Anyways. They have agreed to send a FedEx pickup next week to take the chairs back & refund me. I will post another review if this was not done. But thus far, at least customer service seems responsive. Others may like this more standard base... I don't. The leatherette seat itself looks good at least.

Fair with some problem.
Fair quality. However the leatherette have this funny white frosty smear layer all over. We try to wipe it with wet paper towel. Some came off, but we just sit on it, they all came off eventually. I guessed our clothing wipe it off. I ordered 4 chairs. One of the chair is missing one screw thread out of 4 on base the chair where top and button get attach. It is still functional with just 3 screws. Hope sit won't fall off after some wear and tear. It is just too much trouble to sent it back with dissembling and repacking. Quality control is not so great.

Great chair so far...Just one thing!!
Okay, so we had this chair for @ 1 month so far. I must say it looks great. It is easy to assemble straight out of the box. Just put the wheels on the base, use the 4 screws (with supplied alen wrench) to attach the shiny arms and place the hydraulic piston on the base then put the chair assembly on top, secure and have a seat. The minor issue is that the arms are mirror chrome but the leg base chrome is a bit dull and not quite as shiny as the arms. The only "major" issue we have had so far is the base balance. if you drop a pen on the floor and bend over to pick it up while still seated, the rear wheels will lift off of the ground. If you are not careful, the chair could fly rearward on you and you can end up on your rear!!! (I am 195 lbs. and use chair at full height). The faux "Leather" that wraps the seat is a bit thin, but seems sturdy, though we do not use this as an office chair in an office setting which one would consider 6-7 hours a day 5 days a week sitting on it. We only sit in it 2-3 hours daily by our home computer set up, so the wear on the "leather" will be far off from a true office setting. I give it 4 stars because of the dull base leg chrome and the base balance/tilting issue.

Useless after a few months
This chair is a waste of money.(1) After a few months, it would no longer support my weight (200 lbs) and thus contract to the lowest seating position.(2) Moreover, it is not balanced evenly causing back pain.I have switched to another model that does not give me any trouble. Avoid this one!

can't beat the price
Read mixed reviews, but for the price, I felt this was worth the risk. A friend owns the $1000+ version of this chair, and admittedly that one is more comfortable, but this beauty is a bargain, and my high schooler is only going to be home for 4 years. Hopefully she can take it to college? Easy to assemble. Looks fabulous. We've only had two months and so far no unusual wear. But we are pretty easy on furniture and it only gets used after school for homework. Can't say if I think it would hold up 5 days a week all day for work days. But for a student, the price is right, it's supportive and comfortable and looks fantastic.
