The Forever Cap CCFS6 6-Inch Stainless Steel Liner Top Chimney Cap

During the winter the wind must have blown off the lid to the cover of my chimney, and I could not find it in the woods. I needed one that would fit a 6" diameter chimney and I wanted one that was better quality that the inexpensive one that fell apart after several years. This product has been manufactured to withstand a nuclear blast..!!! Excellent quality and superior to anything I have seen. The design is simple and the fit to the existing 6" diameter chimney pipe was perfect, almost like it was custom made. Although I hope my future needs do not include replacing the chimney top because of wind sheer, but if I do, there's no doubt I will purchase another one of these quality manufactured chimney tops. As I am typing this I got to thinking that I should probably go back up on the roof and put a few sheet metal screws in to secure it to the chimney, even though it fits snuggly.

Had roof replaced and wanted to get rid of ugly fake chimney cover. Under chimney cover was a stainless steel pipe flashed into the old roof. We bought a stainless steel boot to secure and protect the furnace pipe but then needed a cap. We looked everywhere for one that was aesthetically pleasing and couldn’t find anything in the size we needed, or one that we liked, or one that wasn’t really expensive. When we found this on Amazon we loved the look of it and thought we would give it a try and if we didn't like it would return it. Well we were so surprised when it arrived (very quickly) it was certainly the nicest one we had seen and the least expensive by far. The quality is great and it was simple to install. And, as you can see in the picture it looks beautiful! I purchase a ton of stuff through Amazon and seldom write reviews but this product certainly deserves one. You wont be disappointed.

Your for sure on top of your chimney needs with this solid built,medium weight ,solid stainless steel Chimney Cap.I have a standard 6 inch single wall stove pipe and the cap is a snug fit when you slide it over the pipe.I can't see anyway that it could blow off or detach in any weather.The side of the cap has a slit in it that is fastened at the top and not at the bottom so with some force the bottom will expand over the 6 inch single wall type with no problem.Im really impressed with the looks and build ,the large diameter should help with airflow and the way it's made shorter I think will keep down draft at s minimum.You can clean your existing pipe or liner by removing the bolt's from the top portion of the cap with a wrench so that your only doing a install the first time.I think it's a little bit pricey but I also think it could easily last 20 years for the average home owner.

I bought this to put on top of a Chiminea (Outdoor Fireplace). I was able to set this on top and have it act as an ember suppressor for when I'm burning wood outside and enjoying a nice evening by the fire. The opening in the top of my Chiminea is about 6 1/2" in diameter. This rests on top and looks fairly nice, all things considered. The reason I knocked 1 star off is that I wish that the vents on top had a wire mesh of sorts to trap more of the embers from escaping. Living in Southern California, where wild fires are always a concern, watching embers fly away can make a guy nervous at times. As a result, I have a garden hose nearby that I can turn on at a moments notice and *hopefully* put out any fire that might start as a result of me using the outdoor fireplace I have. I did notice that the top is held on by 4 bolts/nuts and I may modify it myself one day soon and insert my own mesh to try and prevent more embers from escaping. Aside from that though, I am very pleased with the product and the expeditious manner in which it was shipped to me.

For what it is it’s about 50.00 overpriced. It fit snugly but didn’t sit flush to my flu pipe. After trying to fit it in place the base bent very easily and I had to take it apart and try to bend it back to form. This is very thin steel and for 80.00 should not bend with your bare hands. Got it to fit in place good enough after messing with it for a bit. We’ll see how it holds up in New England weather. Right now I’m not feeling too confident..

I would recommend this sturdy, well built and American made product. I was buying one a year of the cheaper caps. I live by the coast . There is wind and and salt water. The cheaper caps would literally disintegrate. I am pleased with this purchase.

Arrive promptly. Was well packaged and installed easily. I purchased the 6" cap and it fitted DuraVent triple wall 6" stainless pipe easily. I read other reviews where they had difficulty with the sizing. No problem here. The original cap was a DuraVent stainless cap that clogged with ash and soot and prevented the stove from venting properly due to the wire mesh type construction. Hoping this forever cap remains clear longer. I live in the mountains and use the stove almost every day throughout winter. I shall update this review after a yrs use.

En partant, ça a mal commencé, je me suis coupée profondément en prenant le chapeau par les trous. Il devrait y avoir une importante mise en garde sur le produit. De plus aucun espace n'a été prévue afin que l'eau qui s'accumule puisse s'échapper avant de déborder à l'intérieur de la cheminée. Je vais tout de même l'installer en souhaitant ne pas avoir d'eau qui entre... à suivre!
