Safety, Comfort, and Simplicity
This hitch really is everything it's hyped up to be! Now, because there is some misinformation out there, I'm going to explain my basis for such a positive review.First, my use for this hitch is towing a 38-foot travel trailer with GVWR of 9200 lbs. Since my humble and uneducated beginnings with towing, I have learned a lot.Second, my original tow vehicle was a 2017 Ford Expedition with tow rating of 9200 lbs. I was using a Husky Centerline weight-distributing hitch, which helped reduce tongue weight, but I still exceeded the GCWR by about 15% on family vacations - and it showed. The Expedition squatted 3 1/2 inches on rear axle and lifted 2 1/2 inches on front axle. Steering was so loose it was almost like driving through mud, and we couldn't go above 60 MPH without trailer sway. Finally, after two perilous years, I learned the error of my ways and got a 3/4 ton truck for towing before any accident or injury occurred. The 2017 Ford F-250 diesel includes a stronger weight-carrying hitch with 15,000 lbs tow rating. This means the hitch can handle 1500 lbs tongue weight without needing a weight-distributing hitch. But I was still using my old weight-distributing hitch, re-adjusted per instructions for the taller tow vehicle. It towed okay, and the truck handled great, but hitching took so long, and the weight distribution bars made a awful creaking noise during slow turns. We were still feeling a lot of backlash from the trailer on rough highways, and I worried for the potential strain this was putting on my truck and trailer, so I began looking for hitch alternatives.I focused on three goals: safety, comfort, and simplicity - in that order of priority. I wasn't willing to sacrifice on safety ever again! Website searches led me to three products: Airsafe, Shocker, and Curt Rebellion XD. Airsafe's design was intriguing, but their price was more than I was willing to spend, given that I had other options. Curt's design almost had me, but after comparing them all, I felt that the rubber bumper wouldn't make a significant enough comfort difference for the cost.During my weeks of research, I kept coming back to Shocker. I already had air bags on my truck's rear axle and fully understood the value this suspension upgrade brought to my towing experience. Shocker stands behind their products, and they have all the major replacement parts I may need to keep the hitch working well for many years. Most air bags have a lifespan of five-to-seven years before the rubber wears out, sort of like tires. I was perfectly fine with that.So I bought the Shocker HD hitch for my truck. It's the only hitch of the three I researched that I have any towing experience with, but I have zero regrets. Do I know I'm pulling a 9000+ lbs trailer? Absolutely yes - and nothing will change that. It's long, tall, and heavy. No surprises or disappointments there to blame on the hitch because no hitch can ever make that kind of improvement. What did improve are the three things I was looking for.Safety - I didn't sacrifice any safety by getting rid of my weight-distributing hitch, because the truck is designed for towing without one. If anything, mysafety is improved because I reduced hitch weight by 80 lbs and I no longer have to mess with lifting and dropping the bars into place.Comfort - the jerking, shuddering, and knocking are reduced by at least half of how it had been - which absolutely "shocked" me (pun intended). Now bumps just feel like a rocking motion, similar to the way shocks on a car control bumps and potholes. Towing is less stressful and distracting now that the truck and trailer aren't fighting each other as much - laws of motion do still apply.Simplicity - without the bars to install and remove each trip, my hitching time has been reduced by about 15 minutes. Even with inflating the airbag, setup is a breeze. I run 40 psi on the Shocker HD, and 60 psi on truck air bags. Now my truck squats 1/4 inch on rear axle (1 inch before air bags are inflated) and lifts 3/4 inch on front axle. This is well within expected suspension travel for a tongue weight of 1000+ lbs.Anyone with heavy trailers who care about safety, comfort, and simplicity would be making a smart decision to buy the Shocker HD hitch. I highly recommend it for towing applications like mine. This hitch may not be for everyone, and that's just fine, but I am confident that buying the Shocker HD hitch was the best towing upgrade for me!

Very well made and actually makes a substantial difference, happy with purchase.
Have a box full of standard hitches both ball and pintle some steel some aluminum that are now useless to me. Product actually delivers on promises of ride and flexibility, I purchased both ball and pintle adapters and both work better than anything I've used in the last 35 years.
