Sony 27” INZONE M9 4K HDR 144Hz HDMI 2.1 Gaming Monitor with Full Array Local Dimming and NVIDIA G-SYNC

STANDBY ISSUE: There are many people complaining that this monitor fails to come out of standby when connected to a computer. The root cause is a bug in the monitor firmware when dealing with Windows power management. To avoid this problem, go into Windows control panel and select Power Options. Do the Change Plan Settings and then configure the "Turn off the display" to "Never". When Windows turns off the display, the Sony M9 somehow glitches and is not able to come out of standby unless you unplug the DC power cable from behind the monitor to "reset" the monitor. You can still set the Windows screen saver to blank the screen after so many minutes. The image is excellent when turning on HDR in Windows. The brightness levels on this monitor are amazing. You just have to go into Windows Display Settings and into "Windows HD Color settings" and turn down the "HDR/SDR brightness balance" somewhat for handling white sections of the screen and youtube videos. Setting Local Dimming to High when using Windows HDR presents an excellent result. The FALD backlight sections will actually turn down so that medium brightness pixels and colors show up much more real and without that typical LCD backlight washout effect.

Absolutely love gaming on this monitor! From the first moment I set it up, I was able to see the brightness and color difference even before I started gaming on it. Set-up was very simple and took me about 5-8 minutes to get it put together on my desk. doesn't take up a lot of space on my desk and and I can adjust up and down as well as tilt the monitor for perfect viewing angles. Gaming - very smooth motion and that 1ms response time is noticeable in everything. Much easier on the eyes and makes it more comfortable during extended gameplay. My main game I play (Starcraft) does not support 144hz and are only 60hz but even on 60hz it definitely outperformed my previous gaming monitor I had. I picked up Forza Motorsport 7 to check out how 144hz is and just WOW! Amazing and cant wait to try out more games that do that. Was so impressed I moved my PS5 into this room and will game on this from now on rather than my TV. Viewing - I like to use my PC for watching Movies/Sports from time to time (when my kids are taking over the living room TV) and it looked soooooo good! The HDR600 and Full Array Local Dimming really comes out and shows its power. The brightness and colors that this monitor gives rivals anything i've experienced. Would absolutely recommend this monitor!!

Have not had any issues with picture quality reported by a handful of other users. Can set HDR to on and forget about it and everything from SDR to HDR will look great. Unlike my previous monitor where I had to set it manually because otherwise colors will look funky and washed out with any non-HDR content. Contrast is excellent with deep blacks and bright whites while retaining all the details; it doesn't give you a perfect pitch black, but you don't want that anyway because the same deepness tends to subsume details. Overall, a very nice monitor worth buying if you are looking to upgrade to a 4K/144hz monitor with great colors and contrast. Be sure to get the Inzone hub app which will make change settings a breeze. Lastly, in case you have trouble updating firmware, try connecting USB-C on the monitor to USB-A on the PC. USB-A to A did not work for me.

Fantastic monitor, especially for anyone that owns a PS5. The primary gripe I have involves the "searching for signal" issue that many other buyers have noted. So far, the best solution seems to involve updating the firmware. I've also ordered a DP 1.4 cable, in addition to updated HDMI 2.1 cables with the hope this will also resolve some of the issues I've been experiencing. I think the stand is also poorly designed as it creates bottleneck issues with running multiple cables through it and guiding them into the inputs from there; otherwise, I have to say its a top notch monitor from Sony and will probably entice me to purchase even more from them should they continue to stay in the market. Side note - current price of $799 was what finally got me to pull the trigger on buying it.

I wanted to move my gaming setup into one space and off my main TV. I play on a PS5 and have a gaming PC with an Nvidia GeForce Card w/G-Sync. The picture quality is impressive. The difference between my TV set up, which is 4K, there is a definite improvement in faster motion movement on screen. I play FPS’s and sports games like FIFA and Madden, so screen doesn’t change much for sports game, but FPS game movement is noticeably cleaner. I am using the stand for now and don’t plan to mount it. It is cool how it works with PS5 and the look matches. It automatically sets the HDR and knows if I'm gaming or watching AppleTV+. Plus, I don't have to worry about manually changing VRR. with the PS5 its set and forget. I love it for gaming, both my PC set up and even more for my PS5 use. I would highly recommend.

This is a great screen the colors are very accurate brightness is great actually actually everything is nice up until you notice the led dimming lights when screen has black and I can tell you it’s an eyesore and quite annoying . I read about it but honestly didn’t expect it to be that bad and noticeable . Other wise everything else is great minus that factor coz I didn’t expect to see that issue at this price point

Great product. Too expensive, shame about the Canada tax. It's outrageous we have to pay more for the same product that's 3-400 dollars cheaper in the US.

If you own a PlayStation 5 then this is the monitor for you it optimized everything for me and now I know I’m get the exact picture that the developers intended! I also have an Xbox and it even looks good on that!
