A solid state relay would prevent this sound, but would cost much more.If you're looking to get into home automation and want to test the waters on an inexpensive, easy to use product, get these switches.

Among the different smart plugs I have tried, this is by far the easiest I've ever done, but not without issues. I have struggled with poorly documented setup instructions, poorly designed APPs, no troubleshooting instructions, or a good website with answers. This one is a bit tricky, too. Be careful, the written instructions are vague. When you go for the APP, there are several, and not easily identified. You are instructed to scan the CR code for the correct APP, but it still vague, no website link, or other help. In searching for the APP "Smart Life" look for the symbol that shows an outline of a blue house with the radio signal to the top right. After an extensive search for their website, I went there, found 'contact', sent a message for help and have never heard anything - that was over 2 weeks ago. All considered, once the correct APP is installed, it works very well and trouble-free.

Was hesitant about the led lights, but actually a pretty cool feature. You can turn the light off if not needed, or schedule it to turn on/off at a particular time, much like the power setting. Works with Alexa after learning the matching skill, so all around happy customer.

Easy to setup for Alexa to control. Added to a group in the Alexa app so all activate with one command. Would purchase again.

I bought there wifi plug for my in-law's fish tank air pump, they works very well, once the working cycles were set up, everything automatically, even after short power interruption due to recent storm. recommended.

The plugs function just fine, now that I have them synced with my Echo. But the app to set them up is just atrocious. It took me registering three times to finally accept my login credentials.

Love it! I replaced all my timers in the house with these, now I can change the time on each one with my phone in a few seconds, Works GREAT.

Very disappointed. I got two power strips thinking I will be kinda complete. I tried so many apps. To no avail. I’ve tried manually entering the info, Ive tried scanning. I’ve tried on rapid blinking. Nothing is happening. I turned my internet off rebooted it made sure I was on 2.4. I’ve tried it all it just doesn’t work. And I’m supper disappointed.
