Was a little nervous that I was building a Molotov cocktail so I only filled fuel 1/2 the belly of the bottle. Was so frustrated that the wick would not stay lit, even after a long soak. I returned to the desertcart page and read reviews....... repeatedly saw that the bottle must be completely filled with fuel. Added more fuel to my bottle (be careful because re-entering the wick can cause your bottle to over flow). VOILA! It worked! They stay lit now and are super attractive. Fuel level is important! I'm giving this review only 3 stars on easy to use because I did have to do some investigating about the fuel level. Review: Great product - These are easy to make and a beautiful look in the yard. Made smaller and larger ones. I have bought 8 of these now and made several throughout the yard. Looks gorgeous at night and keeps the bugs away. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very pretty- hard to use *by F***R on September 15, 2020* Like other reviewers say- these are hard to get to work. The materials are very pretty and durable- but the wicks are not held tightly by the brass fittings and the brass fittings are loose in any wine bottle. You'd need to use several rubber gaskets to make them a tight fit. Also- be aware that the wicks can't keep up with the flame once the oil level gets too low. I got around this by filling the wine bottle half way with sand (having an entire liter of oil per bottle seems over kill to me). I then cut the wicks so they would rest on the sand and stick out the top of the brass fitting. I tried presoaking the wicks but that didn't over come the oil level issue for me.
