Great game for the price.
The game only cost about ten bucks but is high quality. I would recommend setting the associated clues in different rooms to keep the puzzles separate. When looking at an individual puzzle, it can be solved after a few minutes or with a clue from the game master so it’s a decent difficulty. Great game for a birthday party.

Fun but Difficult
Super fun, clear directions, but took 2 adults and 1 8-year-old an hour and a half to complete. In my opinion this would be too difficult for the average 8-year-olds.

Hide each set of cards in a different room
I did this with 6 boys age 7 to 10 (cub scouts). I hid each set of cards in a different room or space which I think was key. They went in order according to the book and rooms were labeled so they could look for the correct room also. So puzzle 1 in the first room, puzzle 2 in the second room, etc. I like that this combined the hunting and the clue finding for each puzzle. I did have to help them a bit, especially at the end. They all stayed engaged the whole hour. Well worth the price to not have to think up an activity.

Argh….
Spoiler free review: Hunting for cards was by far the funnest and most engaging part of this game. Most of our players (ages 5-12), and myself, lost interest as we progressed through several riddles that were a bit too advanced for most of the kids. We had three puzzles left after 45 minutes. Me and the 11 year old worked on the last three riddles the next day. I recommend this game for one or two older kids who enjoy sitting down for long periods of time to solve puzzles.

Excellent for a group of 8 year olds!
We used this for a after school party for a group of 8 year olds and they loved it! If I was to do it again with another product, I would have hidden cards a little better because they solved the puzzles quicker than expected. They all enjoyed it though - and the difficulty was just right. We will be looking to get another of the sets the company has for future parties.

Too hard for younger kids!
My seven year old did this with an adult and it was very challenging. If you had some older kids in the mix it would probably be ok, but I can’t imagine a group of 7 year olds solving this without a LOT of help. For example - scrambled words, math problems involving multiplying and adding multiple numbers, and visual puzzles requiring a lot of attention to detail. I was hoping for a fun game for a young kid and this was a total failure for that.

Too complicated.
Too complicated for kids. The font on some cards made it hard to read. Wouldn’t recommend.

Better for older kids
Description said 7+, but Manufacturer’s Recommendation was listed as 5-7. My kids are 5,5, and 7 and love scavenger hunts and puzzles, so we got this for them as a gift. They loved finding the cards and were enthusiastic about the first couple of puzzles. After that, it became too complicated for the 5 year olds and they quit. The 7 year old was still into it, but needed quite a bit of parent help. We ran out of time with 3 puzzles left to go, and by that point he had also lost interest. I think this is better suited for 8 or 9+.

Treat it like taking the kids to an escape room?
It’s good fun, but you can only play it once.
