Used to tighten live above dove field with tractor, worked very good.

I work with cable and use this to pull dead tractors onto my trailer to get to my shop. It holds the cable firm, so there is no slippage.

I had to straighten up a power pole,. I used this tool, I hooked it to the guide wire then to my truck bumper and used a come a long hand winch to straighten the pole and tighten the guide wire, it worked better than expected!

Product works great and seems to be pretty durable. Can't complain for the price!

My use is for lighter loads than the rated 1 ton. Furthermore, its intended use will be with non metallic rope, such as used with capstan winches.

Build quality is poor which is reflected by the amount of slop/play on the main pivot which the cam rotates on. This allowed the cam to slide horizontally while we were ratcheting a 1/8 galvanized steel cable allowing for a gap easily wide enough for our cable to slip off. This resulted in a dangerous 450lb load to falling from the sudden loss of tension in the cable.
