Great watch for tracking
The Fitbit Versa 4 is a fantastic smartwatch for anyone looking to track their health and fitness. It's lightweight and comfortable to wear all day, with an impressive battery life that lasts several days between charges. The built-in GPS, heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, and wide range of exercise modes make it ideal for staying active and monitoring your wellbeing. The clear touchscreen is easy to use, and features such as call notifications add extra convenience. Overall, it's a reliable and stylish smartwatch that offers excellent value and helps keep you motivated to achieve your fitness goals.

This watch is incredible!
Bought for my partner - she absolutely loves it. Battery life is superb, I have a smartwatch that will last 36 to 48 hours at best - and this will easily do 5 days. Lots of features - and the Google Health app that has taken over from FitBit is a brilliant bit of kit. Well worth it for fitness fanatics, or someone wanting to keep track of their activity levels, or if you just want a solid smartwatch.

Compares reasonably well with the Versa 2 but beware GPS dropouts.
My much loved Versa 2 finally became unusable after three and a half years. I have replaced it with a Versa 4. This does most of the jobs my Versa 2 did with the added convenience of its own GPS. However, I have found that the GPS can lose its connection during a country walk not far from home. (Edit 17th Nov 2023 - I find that the inbuilt GPS is useless on my regular country walks near home. We are talking about fields near to housing estates, so not 'out in the sticks'. I can't understand why as Pacer and Strava apps have no problem logging the whole of my walks in the same area. As the built in GPS was one of the reasons I chose the Versa 4 over the 3 that my husband has I am not best pleased. I have not found any means of disabling the built in GPS and reverting to connecting with the one on my iPhone that I used with my Versa 2. This is the most disappointing aspect of the watch.) Battery life seems good, although, I tend to recharge every 3 or 4 days. I do make use of a lot of the features - mainly on the phone app so I would not expect the battery to last 6 days. I do not use the premium facility. The range of clock faces is good and I found one that I like just as much as the one I used on my Versa 2. One thing I do miss, however, is the flashlight. I used to use this on my Versa 2 if I got up in the middle of the night. It gave me just as much light as I needed whilst not waking anyone else in the house. Now I have to use the torch on my phone which is much brighter and likely to disturb others. All in all I am relatively pleased - and I do like the new wrist strap arrangement.

Defective item! Purchased it twice and both item had issues
I purchased the Fitbit Versa 4 twice, and unfortunately, both watches were defective and unusable. The first one was a used watch advertised as being in “very good condition” for £75. I followed all the instructions, downloaded the Google Fitbit app, synced the watch and put it on charge. Everything initially seemed to be working perfectly. However, the moment I unplugged it, the screen went completely black and the watch stopped working, despite being fully charged. It would only work while connected to the charger, so I had no choice but to return it. I then assumed the problem might have been because I had purchased a second-hand device, so I decided to buy a brand-new Versa 4 for £127. Unfortunately, I experienced a completely different problem with the new one. It became stuck on the screen asking me to sync it with the Fitbit app. I tried syncing it countless times, but it simply would not progress. I tried absolutely everything: deleting and reinstalling the app, restarting both my phone and the watch, disconnecting and reconnecting Bluetooth, and repeating the setup process several times. Nothing worked, and I eventually had to return the second watch as well. This has honestly been an incredibly frustrating experience, especially after spending £202 across two purchases and having to deal with two separate returns. I am now waiting for both watches to arrive back at the Amazon warehouse so that I can receive my £75 and £127 refunds. My partner has a Fitbit Sense 2 which works perfectly, so I may give that model a try instead. But based on my experience, I would not recommend the Fitbit Versa 4. Having two defective devices in a row has completely put me off this particular model.

Versa 4 is a great replacement for my Versa 2
I was using the Versa 2 but after 6 years it gave up so I looked around for a new one that was affordable and this one from Amazon fitted the bill. Love it and it was delivered next day so what’s not to like. I must say that I was in John Lewis that day and would have supported my local shop but they had hardly anything in stock. So easy to order from Amazon and I’m loving it.

Good looking. GPS issues.
The watch came quick, in a neat box which included the watch itself, large replacement band, charging cradle and start guides, unboxing was a pleasure. The initial setup was also easy, as I had my fitbit account already created some time ago, using fitbit fitness band. Here my first little disappointment - the fitbit app offers very limited functionality, the detailed graphs and comprehensive health tracking is available only with paid premium subscription. That's not what I expected. The GPS works fine, if you willing to wait 1-3 minutes until it lock on the gps signal. Yes, you can't start running or walking exercise any time you want, you have to wait for the gps - and sometimes the message 'bad signal' shows up in a areas without any obstructions, buildings, etc. Ridiculous. If you won't wait for the gps it won't catch up - it will show a straight line on the map (see attached picture) and the watch just ends the measurements, basically stops the exercise. The other attached picture shows the same exercise with agps tracked, however, it shows different start and end point (I started and ended walking in exactly the same spot). I'm very disappointed here. From the good things - the new fitbit has absolutely phenomenal heart rate tracking, I have checked it against a finger clamped medical pulse oximeter and the readings were identical. It also performs very well tracking the sleep pattern (however, without premium it gives only a simple breakdown (light sleep, deep sleep, fall asleep and awake time), but it seem to be accurate - and it also records day naps. The amoled display is nice, it can be turned into always-on mode, which I prefer, however it penalize the battery (manufacturer says it holds up 6+ days on a single charge - in my case its hardly 3 days). However, because it has only 150mAh battery it charges from empty to full in approx.45 minutes, which is fine. I was really looking forward to have it, it's a fantastic looking wearable, but these issues with the gps and inability to use many good features without subscribing to premium, puts me off a little, I may consider returning it.
