Sometimes gets hot - I use a fan. Typically writes to a 12Gbps drive at about 60Mbps over USB 3. I'm hoping to eventually find something faster, cooler, and cheaper... but this works. Review: Understated Simplicity, Top Notch Quality - This product was excellent. I am an IT guy and work with a lot of different materials, computers, drives, drive form factors, etc. I was a little weary about stepping out into the world of ordering drive cradles for Apple Products, because apple drives are so strangely specific, even varying from model to model in older years. This product truly took the guess work out of it for me. Inside the nice packaging, there were some spare screws if you needed them, a USB-C cable, and of course the enclosure. I can't speak highly enough of the enclosure itself. It's sturdy, appears to be cut precisely, and machined perfectly to store the PCB inside. The included screws worried me at first about holding a drive in place, but they did remarkably well, fitting perfectly within the enclosure. You can tell this product isn't cheaply made, and if you're debating another product over this one...definitely choose this one. As someone who's been in the industry for 15 years...it's easy for me to recognize this as a quality product. The only downfall or shortcoming I could see to this product, was that inside the box there was not a USB-A connector. While USB-C is nice, and generally faster, USB-A is what's needed for most of these older macbooks, so I'd consider reworking that if possible, or just simply adding a USB-A connector into the box alongside USB-C. ## Features - UNIVERSAL SAS/SATA COMPATIBILITY: This external hard drive enclosure supports 2.5"/3.5" 6Gbps/12Gbps SAS drives and 2.5"/3.5" SATA server SSDs/HDDs, making it ideal for data recovery, server backups, and legacy drive access. - HIGH-SPEED USB 3.0 WITH UASP & TRIM: Equipped with a USB 3.0 host interface and a 31.5inch(80cm) Type-B to Type-A data cable, this hard drive reader is backward compatible with USB 2.0/1.1. It supports UASP and TRIM for optimized performance, with transfer speeds up to 6Gbps when connected to a Windows 8.1 or later host with UASP support. - 24TB CAPACITY & STABLE POWER: The USB to SAS adapter supports up to 24TB capacity expansion. An independent 12V/2A power adapter is included to meet the power requirements of large-capacity hard drives, ensuring stable operation during extended use. - VERTICAL COOLING & USER-FRIENDLY DESIGN: The vertical design promotes full heat dissipation, improving drive durability and extending lifespan. Additional features include tool-free installation, plug-and-play operation, USB hot-swapping, driver-free setup, a clear LED indicator, and a portable size of 129Γ—75Γ—57mm. - BROAD DEVICE & OS COMPATIBILITY: Works with a wide range of devices including desktops, laptops, notebooks, mini PC, PS4, smart TVs, and routers. Compatible with Windows XP/7/8/10/11, macOS, and Linux for flexible use across multiple systems. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09VBTBG1K | | Best Sellers Rank | #262 in Enclosures | | Brand | MAIWO | | Built-In Media | 1x 12V 2A Power Adapter, 1x SAS SATA Hard Drive Reader, 1x USB 3.0 Type-B to Type-A Data Cable (31.5inch/80cm) ), 1x User Manual (SAS Drive Not Included) | | Color | Black | | Compatible Devices | Desktop, Gaming Console, Laptop, Notebook, mini PC, Smart TV, Router, Xbox, PS5, PS4, etc, Tablet | | Connectivity Technology | USB | | Customer Reviews | 3.9 out of 5 stars 285 Reviews | | Data Transfer Rate | 5 gigabits_per_second | | Enclosure Material | High-Strength ABS Plastic | | Hard Disk Form Factor | 3.5 inches | | Hardware Interface | USB 3.0 Type B | | Hardware Platform | Mac, Mini PC, PC | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 5"L x 2.95"W x 2.24"H | | Item Highlight | 12V/2A Power Adapter Inlcuded, Support 6Gbps/12Gbps bandwidth SAS, SAS to USB 3.0 Adapter, SAS SATA HDD SSD Reader Enclosure | | Item Weight | 250 g | | Manufacturer | MAIWO | | Material | High-Strength ABS Plastic | | Memory Storage Capacity | 24 TB | | Mfr Part Number | SAS mSATA Adapter | | Model Number | SAS Enclosure | | Number of Items | 1 | | Product Dimensions | 5"L x 2.95"W x 2.24"H | | Supported Devices Quantity | 1 | | Warranty Description | One Year Warranty | ## Product Details - **Brand:** MAIWO - **Color:** Black - **Hardware Interface:** USB 3.0 Type B - **Hardware Platform:** PC - **Product Dimensions:** 5"L x 2.95"W x 2.24"H ## Images ![MAIWO 2.5 3.5 Inch SAS SATA Hard Drive Docking Station with 24TB Capacity - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61xzSWy7xwL.jpg) ![MAIWO 2.5 3.5 Inch SAS SATA Hard Drive Docking Station with 24TB Capacity - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71sNBtA22+L.jpg) ![MAIWO 2.5 3.5 Inch SAS SATA Hard Drive Docking Station with 24TB Capacity - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61YteCZsTmL.jpg) ![MAIWO 2.5 3.5 Inch SAS SATA Hard Drive Docking Station with 24TB Capacity - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61dXAe4UX9L.jpg) ![MAIWO 2.5 3.5 Inch SAS SATA Hard Drive Docking Station with 24TB Capacity - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/615DDQ-bSwL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Maiwo works *by J***Y on September 1, 2026* Works with 3.5" SAS drives. Don’t buy if you want to work with SAS *by U***D on September 22, 2026* DO NOT BUY IF YOU WANT TO READ SAS DRIVES. Very misleading product. Does not support SAS drives passed the connection port. Ran a multitude of tests to see why none of my SAS drives were reading and everything pointed me towards this thing being a glorified SATA enclosure. You can get SATA enclosures for 1/10th the price of this e-waste. AGAIN: DO NOT BUY THIS. ## Frequently Bought Together - MAIWO MacBook SSD Enclosure, 12+16 PIN AHCI SSD to Type-C Adapter, USB3.2 GEN2x2 20Gbps, for 2013-2017 MacBook Pro Retina/Air/Mac Mini/Pro Apple Flash SSD - Sintech NGFF M.2 nVME SSD Adapter Card for Upgrade MacBook Air(2013-2016 Year) and MacBook PRO(Late 2013-2015 Year) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.jp/products/464529474-maiwo-2-5-3-5-inch-sas-sata-hard-drive](https://www.desertcart.jp/products/464529474-maiwo-2-5-3-5-inch-sas-sata-hard-drive) --- *Product available on Desertcart Japan* *Store origin: JP* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
