One of my favorite tools!
Don't be fooled by those little $12 -$20 "stud finders" with the fancy displays and bells and whistles. They don't work. But this unit isn't like that. This is a more expensive, PROFESSIONAL QUALITY stud finder that works! Instead of a fancy display, this unit just has a row of LEDs that light up when they pass over a wall stud. Simple, effective, and from what I've seen, always correct. It's become one of my most-valued tools. No lie.

The absolute best STUD finder you can find.
I recently bought a new TV to replace my 55" flat screen which got fried do to to many lightning storms in the area. Lightning didn't kill my TV, the power going off and on repeatedly too many times in a short time did it. So, my new TV is being wall mounted with a new power surge protector. This Franklin Sensors stud detector replaces the old El cheapo stud detected that was unreliable. I need to hang a considerable weight on two wall studs and the screws need to be dead center. Using this sensor, I'm assured of that. I ordered it yesterday and it arrived today. Setup was fast and easy. Simply drop in two AA batteries and I'm in business. No pre-op setup needed. Just press against any wall, press the button and slide the unit and the lights begin showing you where the studs are. They show you the entire stud so you can mark both edges and find it's center. It also shows studs located close together, too. Overall, I am highly pleased with this tool and in this inflationary world, feel I got my money's worth. Now, it does not detect wiring, pipes or other structures. So, if you're looking for something that does all that, look elsewhere. But this unit excels in finding studs.

Accurate and easy
Works great, and very accurate. I bought mine in order to find an on-demand tankless water heater that was installed behind sheetrock by a moron builder many years ago. Lit up like a Christmas tree when I moved the sensor over the location.

My Favorite Stud Finder
As a home owner who tackles quite a few DIY projects, I have purchased several stud finders over the years, including a nice Zircon and this Franklin Sensors version. I absolutely LOVE this stud finder. It's fast and accurate. I can instantly visualize the studs hiding behind the wall in mere seconds. It DOES live up to the hype for this function. I haven't touched any of my other stud finders since I bought this unit.I owned and used this stud finder for approximately two years when the dreaded happened - I dropped it. It fell about 3 feet onto carpet. I was aware of the reviews of people who claimed this unit is very susceptible to damage from a drop. And yes, it instantly stopped working. I nearly ordered a new one, but decided to attempt a repair. I took it apart and found there are no loose or mobile parts inside (not a surprise), so I wasn't sure what could have been broken by such a short and relatively soft fall. So I broke out the multimeter, and found that I wasn't getting a full 3 volts out of the battery terminals, which looks absolutely fine visually. A quick little bend on the battery tabs to grab the batteries a little tighter instantly resolved that issue, and my sensor is back in action.Perhaps this will help other people who might suffer the same, because this is truly an awesome tool.

Worth every penny.
I've owned a bunch of stud finders over the years and honestly, most of them were junk. They'd sort of work sometimes, but it was always a guessing game. This Franklin Sensors ProSensor 710+ is on a whole different level. The 13 sensors and all the LED lights show you exactly where the stud is - no guesswork, no trial and error. It's fast, accurate, and just works. I'm not a contractor or anything, just a regular DIY home guy, but this thing feels like pro-level gear. Worth every penny.

I have been renovating a house with my father, and we have used his Franklin Sensors 710 (the original version) for years. I have noticed how much better it performs then any of the other types of stud sensors (of which I have three of various brands). I decided to pick one up for myself so that I could use it on some of my own projects. The "+" model is almost exactly the same as the original, save for the ruler on the top, the level bubble, and there is a slight size difference (less then 1/2" in all dimensions, see picture). As far as I understand there weren't any internal changes. I can see the usefulness of the level bubble, especially if trying to hang something like a picture and it isn't really worth getting a designated level. If you do have the original, it probably isn't worth buying the new version; but if you are trying to decide between the two, all else being the same, I would get the "+" version. The 710+ performs reliably, just the same as the original version. I know that I can trust the readings on this stud sensor, it is much more reliable then any other type I have used. I have completely torn down every walls of the house I am renovating to bare studs, so I am familiar with stud locations in each of the walls. When I put the sensor up to the wall, the studs are all exactly where I expect them to be (and on some of the walls with only one finished side I can check the other side of the wall to verify the readings). I included a picture if it in use, those familiar with construction know that one side or the other of a wall socket will have a stud, and the sensor correctly shows that in the picture. If you are serious about construction and find yourself regularly using stud sensors, the Franklin Sensor 710+ will almost certainly alleviate your frustrations with them.

Stud finder that actually works
Best Stud finder I have ever used, very accurate in finding the full stud and where the middle is. Highly recommend it. More expensive than your average Stud finder but they don’t work and this one does.

Simply the best!
If you're looking for the best stud finder on the market, this is the one. It's totally accurate and easy to use.No annoying beeping error sounds or calibration problems that my Zircon finder had. In fact, after I got the Franklin finder, I threw my Zircon out!You just put it against the wall, press the button and slide and that's it. Love how it tells you how wide the stud is! I tested it on two layers of 5/8 drywall. Worked great.
