Just like OEM
This is the same exact key as what came with my Scion xB. I got the car on a trade and it only had 1 key so I searched and found this here on Amazon. It's exactly the same minus the Scion logo on the back of the key. I took to a locksmith to get it cut and programmed. It has the same look and functions as the original key. I didn't attempt the programming offered as I read that on my particular model I would have to have locksmith do it. Either way, this cost much less then going to a dealer and buying key from them or paying the locksmith for this same key as they sell it at a markup but still at less then the cost of a dealer. Very satisfied with this key.

Good so far.
I bought it for a 2016 Toyota 4 runner. I found a locksmith in my area (just search auto locksmith on google maps and phone them up) who had special equipment for the chip that communicates with the car. I paid $65 to have the key cut and programmed and I paid $21.60 for the key blank with tax from amazon. Items for consideration: -Not every locksmith is going to have the special equipment required ( I talked to 3 before I got the job done, I initially went to Walmart where in my area they advertise they can do chip keys but their machine was not capable at the time this was written to do my particular make and model ) -Not every locksmith is going to be willing to work on a key blank that a customer brings in; a locksmith I got on the phone previously wouldn't do it -I brought the vehicle and the key blank to the locksmiths shop, so your experience and price may be different if a van comes to you I personally had a good experience and this definitely beats going to the dealership which could have been as high as $400 for key + programming

I told my parents I was a wizard, they believed me.
I recently bought a brand new-(used) scion xb2. 2008, to be precise. Valet key by itself. So if you lose the original keys, there is hope, and a solution. These key replacements! The key worked, and I am so satisfied that I will be ordering another key soon. Programing was not complicated.. it might look like you’re on drugs for a brief moment, as you close and open the door in a sequence of repetitive actions .. and yeah, it worked. Key was cut at Walmart for cheap.. This is easy, and saves the dealer fees.. and the pressure to test drive a Supra while you’re there.. My parents were nagging me that I had to go to the Toyota Dealership. I told them i was a wizard, and they believed me.

Programming Instructions
Hey Toyota Rav 4 owners out there whose key fob is garbage and are thinking of purchasing this product! I've had this key for a day. First thing, I went to our local Ace Hardware and had it cut, then made sure it worked in the door and the ignition. Now I can't tell you about it's durability or its longevity, but I CAN tell you about programming the beast. The key comes with a card with a link to a site where you put in your car's make, model and year, which then pops up instructions on how to program the key. Now, I'm an older guy and a writer, so with that combination reading through these instructions was pretty terrible. Nevertheless, I went out to my car and gave it a try. One of the first instructions was something like, "Unlock the driver's side door and open it, and close all the other doors, even the trunk." Well, number one, Rav 4's don't have a trunk. Now all of my doors started out being shut. So, do I open them all first, then shut them? (Again, I'm an older guy, perhaps with some brain fog - but still). Another thing I was told to do was to insert the key into the ignition then remove it twice. And I had only 5 seconds to this. But how do I insert the key, then remove it twice? And the rest of the instructions were written like that. So I went to their site and started a chat. And I asked their chat guy, "Is this a scam you're running, or is this legit?", then proceeded to tell them that their instructions were very poor and it didn't work. He aplogized - or did he? - then gave me a link to some other instuctions, on another site. I read those, and they were much clearer. So I asked him why aren't they using those instructions instead of this drabble they have on their site? - no answer. So here they are. Copy and Paste this, read it a couple of times before going out to your car and trying it. I hope this helps. New Key fob not reliable
The key fob programmed as it should, the fob worked, but the longer I had it, the worse it got. It started out it would take more than one button click before the vehicle responded, and it only got worse from there on until it finally gave up altogether. I tried swapping the battery, it kinda worked, but wasn’t dependable, then it wouldn’t let me in 👎. I was going to return/replace it, but by now I missed the return date by 3 days. I read the reviews before buying, all seemed good, nothing against the company, but I’ll get my next one locally

Great if you don't have a factory remote start.
The key does program and wireless lock and unlock works. However the factory remote start does not work with it.

Worked great. Got it programmed for $75. That’s $175 less than the dealer.

The local locksmith who i have had very good luck with, could not program the keys. I went with another key specialist who was able to program keys. Apparently, my toyota 2011 rav4 will only permit 5 keys to be programed. The key specialist simply remove lost keys allowing the amazon keys to be programmed! Very happy with keys

Bought a preowned 4runner with only one key and it was a copy. No original. Bought this and it came with 2 keys. Got them cut with factory key code and got a guy to program them. I'm not too sure about the instructions online as it didn't work for me - although I didn't try too hard to try again. I just tried 2-3 times. But it was easy and reasonably priced to pay to get it programmed! Worked perfectly well! Thanks!

It is programable to start Yaris but it can not be programmed to unlock/lock doors remotely because in Canada, a different frequency used other than what in USA.

They arrived quickly. I got these 2 new Key FOBs cut for about $5 each. Found someone to program the chip for me at a cost of $35 per Key FOB. So each new Key FOB cost me around $60 from start to finish to have it working with my 4Runner. $20 for the key, $5 for cutting and $35 for programming. Nice.

My dealership was impressed this key was programmed. Asking me where I got it. I’m glad it worked!
