When dust mites became a problem with our down comforters despite allergy covers, we decided to switch to silk.The price of this SmartSilk Duvet Comforter (which, by the way, is also available for about the same price at Costco), along with its construction and quality, made it our first choice.After owning it for over a month, I can honestly say that it's perfect as an all-year duvet (although if you're cold sensitive and happen to live in the Northeast like me, you'll need to pile a couple during the winter – which is what I do).Pros:- Keeps body warmth nicely without being heavy- Is naturally resistant to dust mite (huge plus if you have allergies)- Is washable- Is true to size (a king duvet will fit a king-size bed with fabric/silk to spare)- Is extremely well-constructed; the stitches keep the silk together and there's no unevenness in the filling.Cons:- You may need two during the winter if you live in the NortheastAll in all: A phenomenal comforter. Whenever budget allows, we're buying more!

I live in Boston and the weather here is very cold during the winter time. This duvet comforter is very thin and not warm enough. My wife and I only used for one night even with the heater turned on. She only stayed in for 1 hour and I was okay through the night but it was still too cold. The next day we have to change back to our down comforter.I had another two silk duvet comforters, one is from Asia and the other one is from Germany. They are both way thicker than the Smartsilk and warmer in my point of view. I have no problem to use any of these two during the winter with the same condition. They are just in smaller size so I need to buy a bigger one and turned out this one is not great enough like the other two I have. Plus I have bad allergy to feathers so this was another reason I bought the silk one but this didn't meet my need. Smartsilk should be okay to use during the summer time or somewhere warmer. The quality looks good so I will keep it and use it when the weather gets warmer.

we bought our first one of these at costco a number of years ago. having just bought a new (king sized) bed we needed another comforter, and were happy to see this brand available on amazon. we've used our older one year round-keeps you warm in the winter, and is ok in the summer months too. not too thick like some other comforters we've seen. our old one has aged well and still looks like it did the day we got it. highly recommended

This is a phenomenal blanket. I have had down blankets in the past and I prefer this because it is a lot lighter and nothing pokes through. It also does not bunch up. If you expect the fluffiness of a down comforter you will be surprised, silk is a lot less bulky. Another great feature is that it is machine washable which most down comforters are not.Be advised that this blanket is very warm in spite of how thin/light weight it is. I like to sleep in a cold room, 60-65 degrees. This is perfect for me however it would probably be too warm under other circumstances.

Light as air! Soft and cozy ... feels like a sheet, warms like a comforter. We love it!

Hi,We have a nice bed, but it seems to be getting taller every year or two. We purchased a new foam mattress, [a nice purchase], but it was 2" taller than the mattress it replaced, and out comforter was already barely covering the flat part, let alone hang down the sides.So we looked around, we found this, and ordered it.We are both happy, the quality of the fabric and workmanship is very nice, it is a good purchase from every perspective.We would happily buy it again.Dan,San Jose

I have never been so dissapointed in customer service. I purchased this item after much research and the comforting fact that I had "60" days to return the item....HA!!! After giving this comforter amble enough time to regulate and adjust to our body temperature it did no such thing as advertised. Living in South Caroling the temperature is very mild to extremely hot...We still had to lower our thermostat to 62 degrees to sleep comfortable with this product. To make a long story short I called amazon who ridiculously actually asked me if I wanted to return the product for an 80% refund....really its over a $300 comforter for goodness sake. I then contacted SMARTSILK.....actually spoke to the co-owner whom stated I would receive a refund very friendly....well then I was transferred and told OH NO you bought the product from amazon we would not get our money back if you were to return it to us....Obviously they do not swear by their products and am very dissapointed with Amazon for such a horrible merchant.....Blessed were the days when people stood by their word, did the honest thing and took customer service in high regards...

Perfect size for a queen size bed if you love for the Duvet to hang down, as we do. Perfect warmth and sooo light. We are happy with the purchase.
