Comfortable and help keep you warmer.
UPDATE: I wore these as my base layer when visiting Big Sky, MT. I wore another thicker thermal set over these, along with my outer gear, and I was comfortable in 29 degree weather on a snow mobile and dog sled. I was able to move easily as they are thin and not binding. 2 thick layers of clothing restricts movement so its nice to have a thin thermal set like this. I like that the top has thumb holes so when I double layered I did not loose the sleeve and my hands stayed warmer taking my gloves on and off. The waist comes up high enough that you do not loose these pants inside another pair of pants. The true color is the photo with the slate flooring. They are charcoal, not black as most of the photos appear.ORIGINAL: These Arctix base layer pants fit snug and do offer warmth under another layer of clothing. I am wearing a small pants and had already purchased the medium top separately. I feel these run true to size. Both pieces are slightly longer so ordering your normal size will not run short. The waist is high and stays up. The base layer pants feel more compression but not restrictingly tight. You might not wear these on a grocery store run as they are not forgiving:) They show panty lines and muffin tops:) but the purpose is to keep you warmer under another layer. Wearing multiple layers while snow skiing these will add warmth without limiting movement. They are a thicker material but are not fleece lined. There is a reflective stripe on the leg if you wear these as a runner. They are supposed to be wind resistant and moisture wicking. Seems are double stitched. The color is a pretty charcoal gray. I do recommend these but suggest ordering your typical size. I ordered up on the shirt and should not have. The bottoms fit very well. I’m wearing a small bottoms I am 5’5” 120 lbs. The small pants fit perfect with extra length and stretch. Remember the tops and bottoms are purchased separately. They come nicely packaged.

Extra warmth
I got the Arctix Women's Power Base Layer Pant in Large, Steel. I found that it fit accurately according to the size chart. The fabric does have a decent amount of stretch. These base layer pants are not the sort than can also be used as leggings. They don't really look good on their own, and the fabric is rather thin and clingy. But they do fit smoothly under pants and having that extra layer adds a surprising amount of warmth. Wearing these under my jeans definitely makes morning winter walks with my dog more comfortable! These come in a resealable bag, though I tossed the bag rather than keeping it for storage. These base layer pants can be cleaned in a washing machine and then hung to dry. They've gone through my washing machine without developing holes or shrinking. Since they do need to be line dried, I do need to remember to clean them in time for them to dry completely before I wear them. These are a simple, comfortable clothing item that makes winter weather more bearable.

Seem to Work Fine as an Under Layer
I got these in a size Small for my teen daughter. They fit her well at the waist, but the length was a little long on her (she's 5' 5"). The length wasn't too much of an issue though because the ankles taper, so the pants didn't hang down/go past her ankles. Here's the deal. There is a size chart on the item's page and it shows the lengths/ inseams, but there doesn't appear to be a way to pick other than the XS, S, M, L, etc size waist. Just because someone's a small, doesn't mean there legs are short and vise versa. The pants are comfy and she is able to easily put her athletic or hiking pants over the top. They seem to help keep her warm, but she hasn't had a chance to try them out in a windy scenario yet. Wind is usually the ultimate test, so we'll have to wait and see.

What a weird place for a stitch
If you look at the pictures you can see how the stitches come from the side and over the knees of this pants. When worn as a baselayer under my jeans, the stitches that sit over the knee rubs and isn't terribly comfortable. It really is a weird place to put the stitches especially for something that will be worn under other things.

Perfect fit true to your normal size plenty of booty room and long enough for taller gals
I love Arctix brand, the sizing is for normal women and true to USA sizing. I am 5’9” 165 and I wear a large and that’s what I ordered, these fit perfectly, even generous they don’t sag down in the back and I have a big bum, so don’t go up, they’ll be too baggy. The length is great too, good for tall women. These are thin poly and 10% spandex, they are very silky feeling, so they slide under clothing and don’t bunch up. They have a wide elastic waistband and the flat lock stitching is done very well. They are unlined, these are for moderately cold climates, perfect base layer for places like North Georgia where we get a couple snow days a year, they are the perfect layer in medium cold weather. I have the matching top and it fits perfectly and true to size as well. This brand makes very durable rugged clothing, my husband loves their shorts. I love these pants, highly recommend
