Life saver - Great for Travel
I bought this for travelling. It’s small and compact, but can filter a larger amount of water in a matter of minutes. Really great device to have if travelling to places where it’s not safe for foreigners to drink the tap water. The filter also screws on perfectly to a regular size water bottle so you can drink directly from it. Just don’t forgot to air out and dry out the “water bladder” after use, as mold will eventually grow inside. I should have thought about this, learned the hard way. The whole device, including water bladder folds to a small size equivalent to one shoe (weird reference, I know). Would highly recommend and would buy again.

Works very well
I was skeptical of this filter, since it's not the most expensive one. But it works perfectly! I've used it several times with pretty murky water and have been impressed at the results. And I haven't gotten sick from drinking lake water, so, score! Lightweight and easy to use. Works quickly, too. I like that this comes with several durable bags (with built-in handles) you can fill in one sitting or carry with you rolled-up.

Functional, efficient, good price compared to others
I purchased this for a 4 day back country trip in the Sierra"s. The source water was from an alpine lake and run off snow melt. The filter runs at approximately 1 minute to 1 1/2 minutes per 1L, so less than 5 min to filter the entire 3L revisor. We had no issue providing water for 3 adults cooking ,cleaning, drinking over the 4 days. It out preformed a comparable Osprey system w/ double the price point. Over all, very happy with Miniwells performance.

Overall a well thought out gravity filter system.
I have been a fan of the Sawyer mini water filters for years. They're simple. They work, and you can use one filter for up to 100k gallons. That's a lot of filtered water. When I saw this come up as a vine review item I thought I'd give it a look to see how it compares. In a nutshell it compares very favorably. This filter appears to use similar technology as the Sawyer, however it's only rated to 2000 liters of filtered water. I find this odd because it is quite a bit bigger in diameter than the Sawyer but with only a fraction of the filter life.Similar to the Sawyer this unit is backflushable to clean the filter. Basically once the flow rate gets too slow you just hook the clean water up to the dirty water side and you flush it through until the filter is clean. One thing that is different between this and the Sawyer is that you have threads to you can backflush with one of your clean water bottles. I like this, in theory, because you don't have to carry a syringe to hook up to the filter to back flush, but, once you do, you also should probably not use that water bottle for clean water anymore since you run the risk of contaminating your clean water and undoing all that filtering you just did and getting yourself sick. But, carrying a small roll up water bottle to back flush does potentially take up less space than that syringe.Generally speaking this miniwell product is well made. I give a slight edge to the Sawyer because the bottle threaded portion has silicone washers to ensure no leakage. Similarly, the supplied water bottles have caps, but again no washers. They did not leak but the added assurance of washers is nice. The water bottles are decent quality look like they'll tolerate a decent amount of abuse. The caps to the water bottles could do with having a flexible retainer incorporated onto it. It's definitely something I can see dropping accidentally, losing, and rendering the water bottles useless. The dirty water reservoir is a standard water bladder that you folder over and slide a retaining clip over. Nothing special but again, it looks like it's made well enough. There's a black drawstring bag that comes with this kit. It fits everything, mostly. One gripe is that, when you roll up the clean water reservoir and put it in, it sticks out of the bag. An extra inch or 2 would've been nice on the carrying bag.As an emergency water filter system to have in an earth quake/natural disaster prep kit this is a decent little kit and takes the guesswork out of creating your own improvised gravity system. It doesn't take up much space and the 2000 liter capacity would would last 2 people 250 days at 4 liters a day which is plenty.
