Bee-Pro Patties

Love this product! I use it in the fall and spring to support a healthy hive. It gives them the resources to grow and sustain the hive helping to minimize lose of bee's.

Good stuff

The bee's seem to love it and it was easy to use! I keep the unused portion in the fridge as one piece for each hive has lasted a while. It's really helpful as this year spring came early for us and fall/winter came a litter early as a result and they need a little extra food. I've seen some reviews saying it was sticky and a mess, I think this may have to do with the shipping/packaging. Mine arrived when I wasn't home and it was hot out, fortunately the driver (who delivers here a lot) brought it around into the cooler garage where the items would not melt in the sun. The package arrives with no real protection from the elements and could easily get overheated or melt in transport to the buyer or sitting on a hot porch. The product itself is great, and fortunately I have a great Amazon driver, but there should be better packaging to protect the product from melting.

So far I really like these pollen Patties. They seem to be maybe either squished or got too hot or both. Kind of stuck together. But for the price I will still keep buying. The bees love them.

I got a great deal on these pollen patties, but bought more than my two hives could eat. I wrapped the unused patties in a freezer bag and store them in my freezer. In the spring, each hive can eat half a patty per week. As flowers become abundant, they move on to other food. The frozen patties keep over winter if you have leftovers.

These patties are great for boosting brood on hives that have started to struggle and also to get a headstart on the spring build-up. I try to make sure I don't over-offer these because they can attract small hive beetles and ants, if the hive isn't strong. So I cut them to size and make sure to score the paper on both sides with a knife. You also have to seal them in a ziplock or something similar to store them because they can start to mold with moisture from the air.

I cut these patties in thirds and add them to my Burns feeder top. I occasionally press the old patty down through the mesh a bit to keep it within reach of the bees. They waste no time consuming these
