FORTEM Tire Inflator Portable Air Compressor - Air Pump for Tires & Bikes

Every place around here has started charging $1.50 for AIR. I paid for my air a couple of days ago. The pump turned on, I connected the inflation hose, the pump pumped, after several cycles, the pump dinged indicating that the desired amount of air was in the tire that was indicating it was low. The automated pump did not indicate how much pressure was in the tire and seemed to be preset to 32 lbs with no way to adjust. So, I assumed the tire had enough pressure. When I got back in the car the low tire pressure warning light was still on and the dash readout was still showing only 28 psi. I came home and checked the tire with a pressure gauge and sure enough, it only had 28 psi of pressure. Since I didn't want to keep paying for something I breathe for free, I opened my computer and jumped on the Amazon site and checked the features and ratings on portable tire inflator pumps. This unit had very high marks from a ton of users so I ordered it on Thursday and it arrived today (Saturday). Very fast shipping. I had already read other user's comments and directions on how to use the inflator but still read the quick reference instruction page that came with the pump. According to some users, if you don't follow the connection steps precisely you won't have much success. I started the car, plugged the power connector into the outlet, connected the hose to the tire and waited until it indicated the pressure that was actually in the tire. (The pressure gauge and the low-pressure indicator on my dash readout matched. Good to know the car tells the truth with the warning systems). I set the digital readout to the desired pressure and only then did I turn on the power switch on the inflator. I have used other portable inflators before and this unit seems to be faster at reaching the proper pressure. It increased by about 1/2 psi every 10 seconds or so. When it hit the preset pressure it automatically stopped pumping. The power plug and cord as well as the inflation hose all stored very neatly back in the slots. The inflator comes with a very nice storage bag. I put the inflator in the bag and zipped it closed and then easily stored it in the equipment compartment under the flooring in the back of my SUV. This is a very nice, small, accurate, and easy-to-use inflator as long as you do everything in the proper order. The best part is, I don't have to search around town to find a location that actually has a tire inflation pump and then pay $1.50 to use equipment that my not be working properly. The pump is a bit loud for something so small, but it is not like I am trying to take a nap while it is doing its job

I recently purchased this inflator to use on my new car. The vehicle has a low tire pressure warning light, and I wanted to have a way to quickly and easily maintain my tire pressure. The other day my warning light went on, and this past weekend I gout out my inflator and used it for the very first time. I will skip to the bottom line: It worked easily and quickly. I am glad that after much research I chose this particular inflator. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs something simple to use and reliable. More details: The instruction page was clear and got the job done, but there was a reference to screwing on the valve bit, when in fact there is a lever that once you press the valve comver on, you flip 90 degrees, and it locks it in place. No screwing needed. It took me longer to find what my tire pressure is supposed to be, and get the charging wire bundle out of the holder, and untie the bit that holds the long, long cord in a tight figure-8, and plug it in, than it did to use the thing! I read the page one time, and followed the instructions. Plug it in. Turn on the vehicle. Attach the air hose to the valve stem. Set the tire pressure. Turn it on. It is that simple. The unit was not nearly as noisy as I was expecting. It was not quiet, but it was not extremely loud either. I had measured all four tires ahead of time, and they came up as 30, 32, 32 and 32. The range for my tires took it up to 35. So I set the inflator to 34 when I attached it to each tire, and then turned it on. Took maybe 2 minutes for the first tire, and only one minute for the other three. The instructions say the unit should not be run continuously for more than 8 minutes. I probably ran my unit for a total of 5 minutes, in four quick sessions. I did not "cool the unit off" in between. I put the valve cover on, moved to the next tire, attached the air hose, set the air pressure to 34, and turned it on. Very happy with this unit. I like the storage case it comes with too. I have not used any of the extra nozzle attachments. If I had one complaint, it would be that when the unit is on, the built-in light comes on as well. Saves having a separate button to fiddle with to turn it on and off (and one less thing to break), but I kinda wished I could decide when to draw power. But I like having choices. I didn't knock a "star" off the review for that! Don't know how well this unit would inflate a giant inner tube for river rafting, or how long it would need to run to completely fill an empty tire. That 8-minutes max before it needs to cool down could be a limiting factor. But for roadside assistance uses, to quickly re-inflate an under-inflated tire, this was a breeze to use.

Works great as advertised. I ordered based upon USA made. Not so. Even though it seems to be a fine item, there are stickers all over it stating made in China. I would not have ordered if that was listed factually in the write-up by FORTEM. I want to support American MADE products.

Great unit. Works fast. Be careful with the hose. If you are inflating more than one tire it has a tendency to get a bit hot. Also it comes with a card that tells you you get a one-year warranty but when I registered mine it came with a lifetime.

I bought this a while ago for myself, just in case I needed something on the road while I worked for UberEats. I do 200 to 300 miles a day and for perhaps a year I've had it- it's literally saved my backside over eight times. I've been stopped in the middle of Colorado mountains with no gas station in sight with a flat tire. I've had to refill my spare. I've had to help others on the side of the road in the desert too, even on bikes- there has been no end to the situations. As long as your car has power and your tire will still hold air for a few more miles until you can replace or patch it, this little baby will get you there. I was SO pleased with the quality and how well it handles. I set it, keep an eye on it, and it does the rest. I have since bought my girlfriend and her roommate one, my brother and my mother one. My ONLY problem is the accuracy. I wish I could do a 4.5 star on that purely because 2 of the 4 of the units I bought were slightly off. My tires usually sit at 34 PSI, I have to push it 37. And my girlfriends is a 37, and I/she has to set it to 40PSI. So 3PSI isn't that much to be upset about but it can affect a thing or two. BUT that being said, the two I bought for my brother and mother don't have the issue at all. Set it to 40 and you get 40- we swapped it on our cars and it's just our units. Knowing that, I'm STILL very pleased with the air compressor and I highly recommend you get one for your family and friends. It's kept me from very dire situations and the price is unbeatable for something that works this well. It does have multiple fittings for different tires too, but I'd recommend you just keep it in your car tools for the rare situation. Great unit, great ability to work in the worse situations, great cord length, and probably fills 0 to 40 PSI in less than 10 minutes if that. Buy it, you'll thank me later!

This is well worth purchasing. Great to have at home or in the car if you ever get caught with low or flat tire. Love the digital read out no guessing.

Great product! Attaching the air hose is easy and the airflow allows for rapid inflation. It is easy to set the desired pressure and it automatically shuts off when that pressure is reached. The hose easily reaches all tires. It's an adaptable portable air compressor. It comes with nozzle attachments and a storage case.

If you have a pickup with 55 psi tires, save your money as this thing is useless. You have to let it cool every 8 mins. And its slow. It will take you one hour to fill up your tires. Plus the electric cable is short. It wont reach the back tires. 42-55 psi took 8 mins

Compré este inflador ya que tenía una rueda que perdía aire y al cabo de las 2 semanas se me quedaba completamente deshinchada. Nunca había tenido un aparato de estos y la verdad es que ahora que lo tengo y lo he utilizado, se lo recomendaría a todo el mundo, ya que no ocupa nada en el coche, este modelo incluye un estuche y me siento mucho más seguro, sabiendo que ante un pneumatico pinchado puedo intentar llegar a cualquier sitio utilizando este equipo. Actualmente, por lo menos en Barcelona, todos los infladores de las gasolineras son de pago y mucha veces no funcionan, por lo que si no tienes un equipo de estos puedes tener algún problema. El equipo es capaz de inflar la rueda prácticamente desde 0 en un par de minutos. Es muy fácil de usar, ya que solo has de introducir el valor de la presión objetiva. Tiene una luz por si estas en un parking o zona oscura, muy útil . Tiene un cable de conexión a mechero muy largo, por lo que tienes acceso a las 4 ruedas sin problema. El único punto negativo que se le puede poner es que es ruidoso, pero entiendo que todos lo son. En resumen, recomiendo este equipo y yo lo volvería a comprar sin dudarlo

Replaced an old cheaper unit with this one. It is so much quieter and very fast. I like the small size & the dual power source was a must as I wanted to be able to use it in the garage for bicycles and inflatables. The zip case is nice to hold all the cords and attachments. I really like that you can set the pressure to what you want and it stops when the target pressure is reached. It is small enough to keep in your car if you tend to have issues with your tire pressure and want the security of being able to inflate where ever you are. The dial is easy to read and it is simple to use. I recommend.

I purchased this portable air compressor to keep in my vehicle for emergencies, such as flat tires or low pressure situations, and it has already proven its value.
