Flavor Name:Chestnut | Size:250g Pure chestnut honey is liquid (higher fructose to glucose ratio) and has a reddish tinge. In its pure state, it can be quite bitter and smell like turpentine! FilippoÕs chestnut honey in the last 2 years has been milder, and it has a real following. People love it on its own, with cheese, on pancakes filled with ricotta, as an ingredient for cocktails. In northern Italy and France, chestnut honey and blue cheese are a classical pair. People will enjoy them in the winter, by the fireplace, with slices of juicy pears, a bowl of walnuts and a glass of port wine. Together, the blue cheese and the chestnut honey create an explosion of flavors, with many layers.

Seriously DELICIOUS!
When it comes to describing the flavor of this especially delicious honey, all I can say is that I'm absolutely going to bepurchasing this brand again. It's expensive for a small jar, but when I consider what I've paid for manuka honey, by those standards this is inexpensive. The flavor is like a symphony of tastes and I don't want to share my jar with anyone...(so I've hidden it away so nobody can get their hands on it)...I taste a hint of the lemon but it's not a strong lemon note...It's subtle...and light and this honey is so different from all the American honey I've bought. Sweeter. I thought I might use it for baking but it's too good to let it get lost in food. I really want to eat it right out of the jar...put it on toast...in my tea...and be able to savor the taste. It's a special taste. Not runny...I buy honey like people buy fine wine. I do the same with olive oil and eventually find out which is my favorite...So far, I've never tasted a honey I loved more than this. I'd give this an A++....the very BEST!!

Just OK, cost is outrageous, not worth it.
I was born and raised in Sicily. My mom stopped sending me honey two years ago, the only thing I asked her. This does not compare to the one she buys from a small beekeeper she knows. That honey is magnificent, this honey is just OK. Same for the eucalyptus I also bought. The price is outrageous! I splurged, but it was not worth it, I wish I could get my money back.Honey is expensive, but this is robbery.

Elegance incarnate.
Adding to this review after eating it a few times. Very buttery. It really is elegant after having tasted a kazillion other honeys. This is certainly a favorite. When I say elegant I mean it. Amazing mouth feel and taste.Original review: I just opened this honey and took a tiny taste but there is no doubt that it is a brilliant honey that will always be in my cabinet. Honestly, I cannot believe how beautiful some of these honeys are. I just now opened and tasted a Saviolakis Family Thyme honey from Crete and this for the first time. This stuff is delicate and interesting with beautiful texture and unique flavor. I can't believe I opened two honeys of this quality one after the other. Interestingly, I've never had a light golden yellow honey I loved this much or a darker honey I loved as much as the Thyme honey. What contrast, what a night and thank you Amazon. To be continued when I try it again.Stuff gets better and better with each spoonful. Graceful stuff.

Delizioso
Unique. Retains a "bright, zipppines" I have found frequently characteristic of honey produced from fruit blossoms. Viscosity is medium, and although not "creamed" the transparency is very low which I am taking as a sign of what is hopefully to be pollen etc remaining from "processo minimamente" Molto Grazie!

Pure, simple and delicious Chestnut Honey
I have bought this product elsewhere before, but this jar was the best I have found. It has the perfect consistency and flavor - not too strong, but still tasty when cooked. Try it drizzled on baked goat cheese and add chopped chestnuts. Or stir fry shrimp and baby artichokes and add in final step.

Distinctive flavor and really delicuous.
4 stars is for the high price. 5 stars is for the honey. This is definitely wonderful honey, with a strong distinct flavor. It is a sweet flavored honey, with a definite bitterness to it. Very thick and enjoyable to eat. You wouldn't cook with it, but either as a treat on a spoon, on toast or even over vanilla ice cream would be satisfying. Worth trying, but way too expensive (understandibly) to use regularly.

Great Lemon Blossom Honey!
I fell in love with lemon blossom honey during a trip to Kefalonia, Greece last summer and have been searching for a decent replacement ever since, and I'll consider this to be almost as good. I prefer the more mild flavor of this honey, and will definitely purchase again.

Delicate & delicately sweet.
Very delicate flavor like Acaia honey, but not as FLAVORFUL as Acaia honey. At the same time, the sweetness is very light like kiawe honey, so i couldn't really taste it in my coffee. It might good in tea, for those who like sweetners in tea.I plan on eating it straight from the jar like Kiwae honey.
