Quite difficult to inflate even using a pump, the neck of the inflator tube is very short so difficult to grip.However, these do work very well for me.I think the secret is to hang the balloons in such a way that they are always being moved by the wind, the more the better.If the balloons are hanging stationery, birds will ignore them.I tie up a line from one side of the garden to the other about ten feet high.Using more line I then I suspend the balloons at various points from this line about 5-6 feet long so that they about 3-4 from the ground.Hope this helps.
